What cars do some of you guys regret selling over the years?
I'm only 20, so I haven't gotten rid of anything cool yet, although I will be selling my Firebird soon to get a truck.

My dad had a 68 Charger 383HP 4 speed, and a 74 SE.
I know he really regrets selling the 68, but we'll have another one someday.
I read somewhere that only 257 were made in 68 with a 383HP?  Does anyone have any more info about this?

We went to look at a 66 Charger last summer, and the guy who was selling it had a picture of a white Charger 500 with red interior that he used to own.  I know he regretted selling that one.  The guy lives near St. Louis, maybe someone on the area still owns the car?

So lets hear some of the cars you guys had back in the day.

Old Moparz

My 1969 Charger SE, but mostly as a parts car for the 1968 I have now. Although having it sit around since 1984 probably wouldn't have left me much to use right now.

I did consider buying back a Cadillac station wagon I had sold, but was already well into Mopars by then & didn't have the room or the money when it was up for sale.

70 Super bee, and 72 Charger 440 with a RT hood, 67 barracuda, 67 Charger, 74 Challenger...... I think I always regret letting the last one go the most.  The one I diddn't buy is my biggest regret, 1990 we just bought our first house, I had just gotten out of the Navy, I had talked a guy down to $5,000 on a convertible Cuda 383, orange w/ white interior hockey stick stripe.  I had my 70 convertible Challenger I bought in 82.  My wife was having a fit, we are going in debt on a car that you already have one just like it in a different color.  I decided rather than listen to her for 15 or 20 years, I would pass.  I came to my senses and went back a couple of months later but the car was gone.

Luckily, I've held on to my Chargers!!

I used to have a '71 Satellite that I converted to a Road Runner clone when I was in my teens in the late '80's. I was lemon twist, white & brown split high-backed bench interior (yes!!!), black strobe stripes, & go-wing. Fat 50's with Cragar SST's, & a 440. Not anything rare or valuable, but damn that car was fun. I always wondered what happened to it. I can't find my old paperwork anywhere or the VIN# or else I'd trace it. Last I saw it was at E-town, NJ, in the early '90's. It was leaving on a flatbed, never saw it since.

2nd was a '87 Conquest TSI.

My brother regrets selling his '70 Cuda 383-4spd. A/C, leather interior, power windows, loaded. He's back in the game again trying to find another.

The one I didn't buy 5-6 years ago a 69 Daytona fresh armature restoration  $68,000 it was nice but I couldn't come up with the cash as fast as he needed it.

My forst car is My Charger so I can't miss any car owned by me... but SURE I MISS TWO PARENTS CARS and both are Land Cruiser Toyotas

One beige 84 bought in 86, sold in 88 because safety questions. Thiefs were looking too much those, and they were being stolen with guns, and my father decided to sell it. Funny stuff, My father bought a 74 Chevy Nova AND THIS WAS THE STOLEN CAR, after some years owning it.

The other one was a 86 Black Land Cruiser bought in 97... DAMN THAT ONE WAS LIKE NEW, still smelling like on dealer shop... just around 15K miles on it. Full equipped. Funny stuff THESE WAS THE LAND CRUISER STOLEN WITH A GUN ON HIS HEAD when he was parking it. We owned it just 5 months.

Any of the other 68-69 Chargers I've had and sold like an ass.
Maybe the '69 GTX I sold to a buddy

I used to have a neat little '76 and a '77 MGB that I really miss. Fun little cars.

I don't really miss the '71 Charger or the '73's I've had.
Wouldn't mind having the old blue Duster again to make into a strip car.

1970 Charger 500 SE 383-2bbl., consule automatic, air conditioning, power front disk brakes, AM-8 track radio (I did get this though), loaded with many more options and the color scheme: Plum Crazy Purple with a White vinyl top and White interior.  A friend got it in a trade with me and I am helping him bring it back, so it is not a complete loss.....

I lost to a crusher a 1969 Superbee shell, a 1969 Mach 1 body and a 1970 Mustang Grande years ago (body shop went under and they crushed all of the parts cars that I had bought from them since they did not have titles and the city was on their case on all of the "junk" they had.  I did not even get a notice about this until two months afterward, eventhough I was paying them rent for storage for said cars.).....

My 1969 Superbee I had in high school 12 years ago. Numbers matching 383 4spd A/C car with the origanal Dana. I loved that car.

Most of all I owned six 79-81 Trans Ams. They were all very nice cars. I would love to have just one of them back.

And I do miss my 89 Iroc convertable. My ex-wife got that car, while I kept the Charger. That worked for me.

I bought a 68??? or around that year Porsche 911 turbo Race car at the local junkyard for $1000......put a deposit on it, then cancelled the deal the day they were going to deliver it because they tried to make me get plates and transfer the title through them...It was a race car I just wanted a bill of sale, not street legal so I didn't want plates or insurance.  It was a pikes peak uphill race car.  I wish someone knew what happened to it.  This was 3 years ago, it is white with blue stripes.

70rtconv

My very first Cuda.    >:(  It was a 71 Cuda 340 4sp Shaker Gunmetal Gray with leather interior, 6 ways seat, 3.91 suregrip, rallye gauges, consoles, etc.  It was a decent project car, but didn't have room for it.  Took all of the good stuffs off the car and sold the shell to a friend and he turn around traded it for another car.  It would have been a stunning car with the shaker and color combo.

Tried to track it down and was told that someone in AZ brought it.  Purchased a triple black 71 Cuda Shaker 340 AT recently to replace it, but I would glad to give it up to have my old car back.

Arigmaster

The one that comes to mind first was a '67 L-88 Roadster that I bought back in 81. I had it for three years and ended up selling it because of some income tax issues. IRS did attempt to just take it from me but I was able to find a buyer before they could...(BASTAGES)

When I was in High School and for a couple years after. I must have gone through 8 Dusters & Demons. I used to beat the snot out of them till they were dead and get another one. (Like they were Bic Lighters) "Had I known then"....

I also had a 67 Ranchero that I put together... I put on Bronco axels, suspension, and wheels. Then put in a Mach 1 Interior. (less the back seat and used original door panels) Installed a rollbar in the back bed with redneck off road lights across the top. It originally had a 351 Windsor but I ended up putting in a 429 Police Interceptor motor in it.

'CUDA360

There was a '66 GTO I wish I still had but the car I should have kept was a '73 Charger progect car I towed away for free. No interior but it had a rallye hood and the car was painted just like Richard Petty's '73. It even had a cool tail fin that somebody scratch built.  I lost interest in it when the hood got up and walked away on it's own. (stupid ministorage area I had it in)
I ended up selling the 440 for a hundred bucks, Did I mention the 440 in it?  Scrapped the rest  :rotz: in about 1989 or so................

For some reason I am remembered of how the Mad Max car was a Ford Falcon or something like that.  Was that Ford offered in different countries or something?

The Ford Cortina is a medium sized family car sold by Ford of Britain in various guises from 1962 to 1982.The Cortina was produced in five generations (Mark I through to Mark V— though officially the last one was called the Cortina 80) from 1962 until 1982. From 1970 onward, it was almost identical to the German-market Ford Taunus (being built on the same platform) which was originally a different car model. This was part of a Ford attempt to unify its European operations. By 1976, when the revised Taunus was launched, the Cortina was identical. In fact, this new Taunus/Cortina used the doors and some panels from the 1970 Taunus.
All variants of the Cortina sold over one million, with each successive model proving more popular than its predecessor. Such was its fame in the UK that the BBC Two documentary series Arena once devoted an edition to the car and its enthusiasts.

Well I haven't had that many cars as some of the other people listed, and I know I didn't get rid of nearly as many as my father either.

But of the cars I've sold I miss a few.

1970 charger 225/6 3 on the tree, FM3 car with tan interior. I know its an odd ball.
1970 Charger 500 SE with power sunroof.
don't miss the 69 SE with sunroof as much though.
1987 Shelby Charger GLHS #208, had a little over 14,000 miles on it when I sold it.
Had 3 of the 1992 IROC R/T Daytona's.
Had 3 of the 1991 Spirit R/T's as well.

As far as my dad goes, well I know that he definately misses these cars.

All 5 of the 1969 Daytona's he owned, even though he wanted an AT car with a console he never had one. He had 4 4speeds, and 1 AT on the column Daytona.
He misses one of the Superbirds he had, Lemon Twist yellow 440-6 4 speed car, the other Bird was Alpine white 440 4 bbl, AT console car. Nothing spectacular.
I miss the 2 500's he had. 1 HEMI, and the other Q5 that was a 440 car.
He had other HEMI cars, like a 70 HEMI Charger R/T, 70 HEMI RR, 68 HEMI RR, and a HEMI Cuda. But I never cared for the E bodies, and he wasn't much of a fan of them either.

Hey Jim, my first car was a 72 Cortina.  I don't miss it though, it was a money pit and I never did get it legally registered for the road.  I sold it and moved on to another early 70's FoMoCo product and since it was legal, I guess I always think of it as my first "real" car.
