I was with my customer tonight and they took me to the Houston Rodeo.

In Canada we have the Calgary Stampede and from what I am told, this is the biggest rodeo in the United States.

We saw the bareback riders, saddle broncos, barrel races, calf rope, bull riders, chuck wagon races and the calf scramble, which was hilarious.  Picture 26 teenagers and 26 calves, let loose in the arena.  The object is for each youngster to round up one calf.  Only a handful of them got one but it sure was fun to watch.

The food was good.  The turkey legs are like something from the Flintstones.  You think the skin from the Thanksgiving turkey tastes good when it's cooked in the oven (I always pick away at it while carving and I'm sure you do to), well these beauties are slow cooked all day over mesquite and are simply awesome.

Here are some photos for y'all!  Thanks for the response -

Shakey, I want your job or maybe i can be your assistant?

Let's start the interview process right now.  The answer to each question will determine whether or not we will need to continue.

1.) Are you male or female?

Shakey

So I left Houston yesterday and now I am in settled in here for the time being.

I've looked around for a Rodney Dangerfiled type smiley, the one where he is nervously tugging on his collar as he looks to the left and to the right as a bead of sweat starts to appear on his brow - but had no luck.

You nailed!

Contrary to what many think, New Orleans is still here and open for business.  Although a little worse for wear, it is business as usual, at least in the French Quarter.

On the roads leading into town, sights like this were not uncommon.

Also, I was here in May of last year and posted some pics of the destruction.  You can view them here:

first pic I would have guessed Toronto, looks nice for Houston,  second pic had no idea, cool looking city.

Toronto?? The trees are green, there is no snow anywhere and there are no football field sized sheets off ice dangling off the CN Tower threatening to crush the wee cars below.  ???
