Well a few weeks ago I had a post about getting my car started for the first time, I was going to make a video, but the car wasn't pumping fuel from the tank so it went down for surgery. Well its back and this time I actually got to drive it! The first video is just a quick clip of the exhaust at an idle and the second is my wimpy tire screeching. My dad told me to be easy on it since it was its first time moving under its own power in about 15 years. We haven't done any tuning yet (we literally hooked the fuel pump up to the line and hoped we had fixed the problem, and it did so I back it out). Hopefully with some tuning it will run even better. Enjoy.

Ugh, don't remind me about the lug nuts on my Bronco II rims. The front driver side nuts were rounded over and no room existed to get any other kind of wrench on them. I pulled the brake drum off with the wheel still attached and drilled the heads off the wheel studs from inside. Then I punched each stud out through the drum and wheel with the nut still attached. Major PITA that was. Replaced the wheel studs with regular threaded new studs (the car still had the stock reverse threaded studs - probly why they were accidentily stripped by the PO)

Looks like you are going to have a lot of fun with that car.  You have probably mentioned this before, but I'm still new to the board so........Why did it sit for 15 years?  Was it your Dads car or something?  What did you do to get it running again?

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I bought it from the second owner, he had actually done some engine work with it and he and his son cruised around with it for a while (about a year), and then they just lost interest and it sat. So the engine had already been bored .030 over, holley carb, edelbrock intake, comp cam, and headers. I think it was just they way the owner was, he had a ton of unfinished projects in his yard (not muscle cars). He lived way out in the desert on a washed out road. The car started out running pretty bad, it died 3 times, but after a few passes up and down the street it kind of warmed up and idled great. Thanks for the kind words guys, its a pretty big step to get it drivable again and it gave me a jump start to get going on the body work. The great thing is I haven't really put much money into it and its already running, which is key because I'm doing this using all my own money. I'll definitely be making a better video in the next few days with a lot more  :drive:

Well Scott I would be proud too. I had one of these around twenty years ago. I paid little for it and replaced motor and finished body and had it painted dark green. I loved that car and would have another one in a heartbeat. With most cars we own nearing completion we are looking for a 68/69 Road Runner or Satelite project. Want to Sell?  ::)
No just joking enjoy the ride.

I'm going to build it to be close to a daily driver, I'm moving back to AZ at the end of this school year so weather won't be a problem. The next step is to do the dent repair and then paint (I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on a color). I'll also be taking those bronco wheels of pretty soon, I just bought a used set of magnum 500's locally, I just need to get some tires on them.
