I will be dropping my gas tank, and putting a new tank in my 71 Charger, and would like to know how the gas tank neck is attached?

If it attaches the same as a 73, (which I think it should), just unbolt the brace that attaches the neck to the body (one bolt) and it should slide right out.  You may have to twist it a little.
