I know that they are not all the same for all years.  Thanks.

I didnt count them so the number of vents will be different but you get the idea...  ;)

That is true too.

Here is a comparison shot, the 72s and 73s are the hardest to tell apart but this shows the difference in the two.

:iagree:

plus: I edited the GRILLS LOL to give more accurate description :D

Beside that, all 71 bulged hoods where with cut out to superbee or R/T inserts... or Rammed hoods, since bulged hood were part of those packages

Flat hoods also has same different grills

i have 3 hoods, 1 72 non powerbulge and 2 71 bulge hoods (one with the "gap" in between the louvers) anyway on the non power bulge, i counted 64 louvers, same with the 71 bulge with the gap in between the louvers, but my other 71 bulge hood (which has no "gap") i counted 68 louvers

The differences are in the cowl vents, although there is a great deal of variation in the application. Generally, the 71 hood had vents all the way across, the 72 hood has a 2" gap in the vents, the 73 has two sets of small vents, and the 74 has no vents at all. Having said that, 71 cars came from the factory with both the 71 and 72 style vents, the 72 cars came with 71, 72, and 73 style vents, 73 cars came with 72 and 73 style vents, and 74 cars came with 73 and 74 style vents. The 71 superbee and R/T hoods were the same with the exception of the style of insert in the hood. Air grabber hoods are the same for both 71 and 72, with the exception of the different vents, and there are even some air grabber hoods with the 73 style vents, even though the air grabber hood was not available in 73. I don't think I have ever seen a 74 style vent on an air grabber hood.

the airgrabber (named ramcharger on charger's) hood that 1958300 mentioned, does exist and (from what i was told) was a factory replacement hood. for a long time the ones i saw (and i dont believe there's too many out there) i thought were fakes but they are not the wer offered as a replcement and i believe are pretty rare.

That would be great if I had a 73 ramcharger hood for my 73, but I am pretty sure it is a 71-72 hood.

My air grabber hood has the vents all the way across, I guess it is a 71.
