As per the previous thread "Alberta Hemi Daytona pictures", http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,25079.0.html

site member UFO posted a picture of a black Hemi Daytona taken in 1988 or 1989.
I suggested it might be Sid Bracksmas' car, in Alberta Canada.

It has been suggested that there were only two or three black Hemi Daytonas built, which is only partially true. There was definately another one made, and it was shipped to Alberta, Canada.
According to a very well informed source, (Mr. K)...."the black 500 is the same Blue car....THIS Daytona IS a black car and is Canadian...thus it probably was NOT counted in the other 3 KNOWN black US Hemi Daytona's....
Sids' Daytona is a 7000 mile restored car....with 727.....sold new at Crosstown Motors, Edmonton Alberta....the Same dealer who sold Steve Harris' EV 4 speed Hemi Daytona.....#1 volume dealer in North America in the late 60's.....
Sid owns the black car along with several other Hemi's and Wing'd cars.

I dug deep into my vast magazine archive and dug up an article. In the Fall 1986 issue of "Northern Wheels", Sid displays some of the toys he has collected over the course of his adult life.
It makes mention of the "pride of his fleet" being one black Hemi-Daytona Charger.

My well informed source (Mr.K) also provided me with this: "He has a black Hemi Daytona, a 440 Daytona, 71 Hemi Charger RT, 70 Hemi Superbee, 70 Hemi RoadRunner and Several Superbirds...........".

I saw this car at the Red Deer Mopar meet about 15 years ago, still have the pics I took. Had 6000 miles then, all original car. At the time he owned several Wing cars, etc, not sure if he still does.

FJMG

Not an X9, but what about this Daytona??? I think these pics were taken in the summer of 1970, somewhere northwest of Montreal. Anybody remember this car????

If all of that information is true, then it would definatley be a 3rd Black HEMI Daytona known. The other two though are 4 speeds, this would be the lone AT.

Never seen that one here in Quebec. It might be the one that ended up in or around the Oshawa Ontario area a few years back. Their was a white one for sale around their back in the 80s.
Previously owned Daytona XX29L9B423239 - f8 - white int. - power windows.

Well that's a different twist on the problem of "how long is that nose?" when parking...sorta like a snowplow.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Rumor has it that the above white Daytona had an electrical meltdown around 1971 and subsequent fenderbender, then possibly converted to a 69 and painted hemi-orange. If there is any truth to this rumor then there must have been a bent up white Daytona front clip (unless it was junked) and red wing floating around that area after 1971??????

My guess: because the license plate says Quebec? :P

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

FJMG

The person that took those picks claims the car was purchased in St. Jerome in the spring of 1970.
