how do i get the chrome off of the tops of the doors and along the bottom of the rear quarter windows? i'm talking about that 2 inch wide strip that runs the length of the windows....

Thanks Ryan Olson
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

you need to remove door panels, get lower as posible the glasses, remove weatherstripes and then you will get acces to molding screws.

Doors weatherstripes are just screws all along the door. Molding has screws and an extra nut at very rear end of door. Also an extra screw at very front end of door. Door glass is easy to get lower as posible just removing the lower bumper attached on door.

Quarter weatherstripes are attached with slide clips. Molding is attached with bracket and screws down the weatherstripes. Dunno on 71/72, but 73/74 "boomerang" molding has a pin with a selftapping nut inside C pillar so sail panel needs to be removed to get easier acces to that selftapping nut. Probably 71/72 is similar

Nacho is right 100%. You have to remove the beltline weatherstrip to access the screws. You might have to remove the glass too. I'm not sure you can get it low enough to access the screws.

yes is posible if you remove the rubber bumper at the bottom of door. Quarter is not a problem

Nacho is correct. I removed the top moulding on my door by removing the rubber bumper on the bottom of the door.
When removing my quarter window trim I first loosened the adjusting nut on the window track that allowed the the window to drop down lower, that gives you enough room to get at the screws that holds the trim on.
