77 727 problems

I have a 727 truck tranny(short shaft/married) in a 4x4 truck(77) that is starting to slip. It wont kickdown if i floor it and seems to be pretty weak going down the road. Is there anything i can to help it out till spring comes along to tackle it?

this may be a stupid question,but have you serviced it lately? also check your fluid level

i changed the fluid,filter and evern tried adjusting the kickdown screw.

What about the throttle pressure linkage? Is it hooked up and adjusted properly?
