JUST BECAUSE I WANNA GET MY LAST WORD IN, AND I LIKE HAVING THREADS GET LOCKED Yes, I know, I am a pitiful and sad man

You have got to be kidding me.  If you disagree with them, fine, but call your congressman, don't call them names.  That is just as 3rd grade as you can get.

I am tired of jerk asses that have never owned or shot a gun in their life taking them away from us. ....Liberals want one thing and that is for the people to rely on the government for everything. I don't want to rely on anyone to protect me or my family.

I agree with the assault gun ban.  Am I a jerk ass that has never owned a shotgun or fired an assault weapon? No.  I have fired more assault weapons (fully automatic), grenade launchers (both M40 launchers and M16 mounted); .50 caliber; SAW; and M60 machine guns.

My question is this, why would you need an assault weapon?  To protect your home?  How many times has your home been burglarized in the last 10 years?  How many times have you picked up your "assault weapon" in anger to another human in order to protect you, your household, or your family?

I hear so much about how all of you feel those liberal democrats are screaming to take away your rights, but all you see of the picture is from your horseblinder vision goggles.

You state that the murder rate has gone down forty some odd percent and that makes the justification of keeping your assault weapons validated, but COME ON!  One murder is too much.  How can you, as human beings, state that because the murders have gone down, I should be able to keep my weapon.  Why not this, once all the murders are gone, then you can have your weapon.  If they go back up, your weapons are taken away.

A human life is too precious for selfish wants and desires or the "I should have this because I believe I should have this" speech derails something that is meant to prevent the loss of lives.

I have a question, how many of you vote?  And when was the last time you voted in all free elections that you were eligible to vote in?  (Board of Education, City Council, County Commissioner, Mayor, State Elections and Federal Elections).  Be a real citizen and use your voice where it matters. Just do not be a 2nd Amendment citizen only.  You know, there are many other amendments out there that require your attention too.

All this does is prove what I have said a couple times before right here.

Liberal democrat is just a reword for socialist. They want to systematically remove the rights of the average citizen.

I mean the Murder rate is lower. The climate is changing (the fact that is has always changed on this planet is totally inconsequential) and obviously it is our fault.
The democrats simply hate this country and all it stands for.

Democrats simply hate this country?  Man O man.  You have got to be kidding me.  I hate my country?  Why don't you kiss my red, white and blue derrier.  I spent 10 years defending my country from all enemies foreign and domestic, and right now, you look domestic to me.

You guys just piss me off to high heaven with your holier than thou, "if you are not for us you are against us" bullhockey.  There are so many more aspects to this and many other proposed legislation that just DO NOT affect you and your 5 mile bubble.  There are 285 million people in this country, and not all of them agree with you. Does that make them wrong? No it does not.  It allows them to express their right to believe in what they want, but to be pompous behinds about your opinion is ridiculous, especially to the point of demeaning name calling. Get over yourselves.

To me, it seems that the Dems are further off the deep end than they were 10-15 years ago & the Republicans are moving over where the Dems were...we just need some stability in our government again, with leaders who aren't afraid to put their foot down when our constitution is being stomped on.

I don't think taking away everyone's guns will help, because "everyone's" guns won't actually be taken away...only the honest people's. There's been sooo many guns made for so many years & so many of those have been rat-holed from fears exactly like this one. Those rat-holed guns WILL only be available to less than honest individuals, who could care less about gun laws & only mean to hurt/kill others.
Certainly you guys agree, right?
We need to have a balance of firearms available to both sides of the playing field, but be a lot less wimpy about the death penalty for murderers & such. That's the only way I can see an actual change happening in the murder rates.
