I wish I could get bait to be taken like he does......

And there is that all too familiar DC "Fraternal clique" mentality!  When it's a "reputable Member" it's classified as "bait".  When it's ECS it's called "psychotic trouble making behavior".
Psychosocial behavior, to be correct.

As I stated earlier, let it go.  Everyone else did around 5pm today.

When YOU START your garbage with me, you don't get to decide when I "let it go".  Don't start something you're not prepared to finish.

that's revealing....

Why is it everytime I come back on here, Tufcat edits his words.   :scratchchin:

ECS has never participated in a thread that hasn't been locked.  Good night.

sounds like it is about time for you to contact a moderator to request this one gets locked too, huh, Tom?  Seems to be a common thing, right?

And where was your awareness of Justice when the instigator started his garbage?  Odd that it takes my RESPONSES to the rudeness, to awaken your sincere attention towards peace & resolve.  Pitiful.....

What is pitiful ECS is that you still take the bait.  It's over, man.

I politely stated tonight for all you guys to let it go, it's an IMPASS.

I actually got a ride in a 63/64 Turbine.  Lots of Noise and no go. :eek2:

Am I friends with Dave?  Surely.  Just as I am friends with John Kuster, Tom Felice, John Antonelli, Gene Lewis, Jackie and Shelby O'Brien, Bill Mann, etc, and a whole bunch of other people on this boar!  If I felt anyone of them were in the right, I would stick up for them just as I would stick up for you IF you were right about something.  If you feel that you are being portrayed as the bad guy, then take a look in the mirror pal !  Sometimes the truth hurts.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA!!!  :nono:
Don't drag me into this mess placing me on "sides".  :nono:
I am friends with LOTS of members on this board, including some here that are dicking this out. They can fight their own fight, I don't need to be placed in this drama.
Carry on...   :popcrn:

BTW, sidenote, I saw a turbine car running thru the showfield a few years back at Carlisle. Cool car, very unique sound.  :yesnod:    I did not know there might have been plans to drop one in a Charger.  :shruggy:  Learn something new every day on this board!

Bill, not trying to drag you into this.       Just was stating a fact that I am friends with a lot of people on this board, such as you, and not just Dave.  My apologies for mentioning your name and refrain from doing so in the future.   :2thumbs:

Aside from Leno, are there any other turbine cars in private hands today?

resq302

Didn't the Walter P. Chrysler museum have one or was that the one sold off to Jay Leno?

I saw a video of a bronze car at the museum not too long ago.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I seem to recall that one was on facebook also recently.

The museum had two and sold one to Leno.  I think there is one in the Detroit art museum and a couple of others out there (duh, with those three that only leaves two  :icon_smile_blackeye: )  To my knowledge anyway.
Weren't all 50 of the Dart ones bronze?

That's what rings a bell with my memory.  I recall seeing a photo of one or two in zip lock baggy type things and the other went to Leno.
I also have some foggy memories from when they came out. (or were about to). I was not quite ready to drive but dreamed about the smooth whine as being so cool and advanced not mention that the fuel choices were not limited to gas.

dyslexic teddybear

I certainly understand about......liability, costs to store, and the attitude at the time......"it's served it's purpose, we're done with it, clean the place up and get rid of it".

But I can't even begin to comprehend the amount of cool stuff that went on back then. At least it would be cool now. Wish more could have been saved. Look at the debate over in the areo section about race areo's.....and right here on this thread......look at the amount of  :RantExplode: over what the mail guy may or may not have seen.

No intention to restart that :rotz:.....it just makes a good example......NO ONE at the time, would have ever dreamed years later we'd be debating it here.

Just imagine.....if Chrysler had simply stored waste paper such as, memo's, plans, notes, engineering drawings, etc......in a big warehouse......how many of us would volunteer to go and help sift thru it? :scratchchin:

Again....just wish more of it could have been saved. :yesnod:

Sadly it's not just an automotive "thing".  For those of us into aviation can only look at wonder in the pictures of thousands of no longer needed or wanted aircraft that ended their days in the various storage fields such as Kingman, awaiting to be scraped.  (Kingman actually planned to save one B-17 for display and somehow never got around to pulling one aside).  Today few of these aircraft survive, and in fact some aircraft earmarked for the Smithsonian were even melded down and no longer exist.

And, while the reasons may be different for "scrapping" our history between government and private companies the end result is still the same....nothing for future generations to look upon, other than pictures.

Absolutely agree.....

I'm very interested in history......maybe consider the analogy as a "major" in Mopar......and minors in aviation, and rail/trucks/ships......anything transportation.

It's sad that so much has been lost. Internet is a great resource for pic's.....it's just that there is no substitute for seeing in person.

So I started reading this thing and got up to post 90 where Tom Q inserted a reality check by speaking the truth. That lasted till about post 96. So here is my contribution. Is it a turbin? A Ford. Chrysler?  I put this in here so you guys could argue about it.

It was the Bronze one borrowed from the Museum for our car club at the time in the early 1990's (HPAC).  Trust me, it's was not worth the hype.
