I talked to the guys a few days ago at WeRaceHardCore. The full quarters are $2495.00 and they plan to have doors, fenders, and all of the body panels including full trunk floors and floor pans available for the 68-70 Charger available before the end of the year 2007.

I've already ordered a pair for my 70 R/T SE. $2295 including shipping each. So far they have been delayed twice....promised that they would be shipped this week. We'll see. When my shop gets them I'll post a review.

HardCore was at the Centerline Mi show a few weekends ago. They had a couple of thier quarters there, the oops ones! They were the ones that were with broken metal the the corners and still in the complete piece of metal. If they get the stamping process down, they will be nice quarters. But I'm sure they are going through a learning curve. There was also some talk about them making enough parts to where you could buy all the complete Charger sheetmetal from them for a whole car. I didn't catch the whole conversation but one of my buds had told me that's what they were talking about.

I'm taking a leap of faith, however if they are not good they'll be shipped back.

has anyone else seen the pics they posted over at moparts?  pretty amazing to see a brand new full charger quarter panel. not an artists rendering either, real pics.  they look very nice. they also showed a pic of a door skin in progress.  maybe it was the dye for the door, whatever.  just means that doors are next.

sort of rots to pay 5 grand for quarters, but maybe they will sell the tooling to a mass production place and the price can come down.

Holy crap, they look beautiful! :drool5:
Now about that price...

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That sound like a good idea! They should do that!  :yesnod:  :icon_smile_big:

i've never had to replace a quarter panel, so forgive my ignorance, but doesn't year one and paddock have quarter panels?  why is every one so excited?

These are "full" quarter panels like the factory. They go all the way to the roof seam. The ones you can buy currently are "skins" and they only go up to the top curve of the quarter which means you have a 7' long welded seam across a relatively flat area of sheetmetal.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

hemi-hampton

YES, Year one & Shermans & others sell a 1/2 a quarter panel, Bottom Half, but in my opinion they are of poor quality & fit compared to a NOS or good used 1/4 panel. The Company making these 1/4's for hardcore make a quality part from what I've seen. LEON.

Damn those look good  :drool5: I sure hope they come down in price, I'd like to at least put one on the driver side...

Ghoste

This business about having all 68-70 Charge sheet metal available by the end of the year is kind of surprising development too.  Did some kind of Charger haunting occur for this guy after he wrecked that 69 RT and a Charger spook of some sort warned him to atone for his sin?  Kind of like a Mopar Christmas Carol?
Or maybe, he had so many guys off to buy that "worthless" Dodge from him and substitute another car that he figures all 68-70 Charger owners are stinking rich?
I know, I know, let it go already, but it still seems strange to me that an alleged Chevy guy would wreck a brand X (to him)and then start repopping full panels for that very model.

Dodge Don

I ordered a pair of full quarters from Hardcore months ago. One excuse after another. Then they no longer returned calls and their voice mail boxes were full. Then I sent e-mails which I know they received and opened (return receipt) requesting a refund. No response, no returned calls, no refund processed. I contacted my card issuer who has already credited me back and sent the charge back to Hardcore for failing to provide merchandise.

Something smells rotten there. Anyways I got my $$ back.

AKcharger

Thanks for the update Don

Frankly I'm shocked after all the marketing and hype they put into them to blow their foot off like that. I think it's reasonable to assume that about 20%-30% of their entire 68-70 market hangs out here...to get a bad rep right off the bat and loose your market base before you get off the ground, pretty stupid ESPECIALLY when other people are makin' 'em now too!!!  :eek2:

AirborneSilva

Yeah Don thanks for the heads up, sorry you had to go through so much crap though.

Ghoste

I don't think Hardcore ever really cared that much about Chargers (or even Mopars in general) in the first place.  They were just jumping on one of the Mopars are Hot cars from the bandwagon train pulling out of B-J station.

tan top

wern't these  the same guys that jumped a 69 R/T 440 4 speed matching #s car ,  hmmmmm............ :scratchchin:

And reveled in the controversy surrounding said jump.  :rotz:

Believe it or not, the owner of Hardcore is a Charger buff.  He's got several 2nd-gens, and one of them he's had for like 20 years.

I don't understand the RT wreck either.
I was there to watch it happen, I talked to the owner a few times, and I still can't understand what was going on in his head.  The guy had originally intended to drive the jump himself before his employees & the DOH stunt crew talked him out of it.

I guess that's just a sign of having too much money and not enough respect for matching numbers.
They got that car in the first place because they overpaid for it on Ebay a year before.  It was the second or third time the car had been on Ebay in recent years and nobody else would touch the $35,000 minimum bid.  (The entire rear clip and some of the passenger floors were rotted out.)

Yeah, the body was gonna have to get torn all the way down to the framerails before it was solid again.  Quarters, wheelhousings, trunkpans, front floorpans, fenders patched, etc.  The whole thing was still a great candidate for a restoration, but it was nowhere near a $35,000 car when Hardcore paid that much for it.

Take a good look at the series of pics of the jump in the most recent Car Craft issue --

The car's rear clip looks normal before the jump.  But then the whole unibody buckles from the impact with the takeoff ramp, and the quarters are visibly wrinkled in the air.
When it lands, you can clearly see the bondo-caked lower panels cracking & coming apart.

The sales guy was a jack ass on the phone.  I hung up and I am glad I did.
