why is it that all of the cars (regardless of 68-69 or 70) :shruggy: this guy does, the int. is always from a 69??? (any of the one's i've seen?!?!) and he always says that the headlight doors have to be opened by hand?!?!?   :ahum: as with most chargers?!?!?  i would hope (as mine aren't hooked up at the current time...do to my dash being apart??!?!?) that i will be able to push the button & have mine open up?!?!? i mean does everybody on here have to open theirs up manually?!?!?!? i know there are a couple members on here who have bought cars off this guy?!?!?
ok..just a lil rant!!!  that's all!!! LOL :icon_smile_cool:

I have to open my 68 by hand.  I bought the new Vaccume hose kit during the last group buy but have not gotten around to installing them.  I really never saw it as that big of a deal.

HITMAN 149

We can make them open. It requires only a bit of vacuum. The problem is that few people will go out of their way to plumb new lines, or to make sure the system stays airtight. It really isn't a complicated system in comparison to an electric setup, which requires relays, limit switches, motors  and an extra two miles of wire and connectors.

I have a rope tied to the two headlight doors and it runs through the firewall.  When I want to open them, I just yank on the rope and tie it to the shifter.  When I want them closed, I just untie it.   :yesnod:

My car was orginally a 4 speed but the coppers kept pulling me over while driving night because my lights would be flashing on and off everytime I shifter gears so I scrapped the 4 gear and swapped in a 727.   :yesnod:

That's Danny Johnson from Fayetteville Tennessee.
His true passion is 69's and he does make GL's out of most of them. Which I obviously have no issue with. :icon_smile_big:
Most of the interiors look like 69's cause he has a guy that does all his upholestry work and does it all mostly the same.  Real nice guy and real honest if you talk to him over the phone.

His paint and body work seem to be improving quite a bit from what I can see.
To answer your question about the lights it's because he just flat out doesn't troubleshoot the system.  It just isn't on his priority list when he puts these cars together.  His goal is to save as many chargers as he can, build them for a reasonable price and sell em to people like me who want a running driving charger without having to spend the time they don't have restoring it.  I guess that is the long and short of it.  Oh and if anyone buys his car.  The problem with the light doors is the vac can, i can almost promise you that. :icon_smile_big:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Sounds like nice dude, was it the Vac can on your car Mikepmcs? :icon_smile_big:

YES!!!  And he is a very nice man for sure.
And I replaced it with a 46 oz dole juice can, but you can use tomato juice as well, it all still opens the same.  My car is nowhere near the mechanicals when I bought mine from him but i've had fun tinkering along the way and i'm not done yet.  The motor is still real tight though cause he has them all rebuilt by a professional. I just wish he would get away from that Mopar Performance (too big) Cam that the rebuilder installs.   :icon_smile_big:
I'll be changing that to a K56 soon.

I think the 70 has the better system. Mine always worked fine :icon_smile_big:

The 70 isent better, mine blown the relay and those are imposseble to find working as it should, and those newer relays you have to rewire it. The 69 you can just make it work with all kind of ides :icon_smile_big:

I guess i better cross my fingers then. Where is the relay located? Probably a stupid question because my car is completly dissasembled now and i evidently removed it with the wiring.

His best car he ever had that I saw was a 69 Triple Black R/T. It was there when I picked mine up(3 day non stop ride)  Damn it was awesome and worth every bit of the 50k he was asking.  He finally sold it to a guy in California and it is one of the most used cars for scammers on the internet right now.

I have stopped a few people from buying it (via scam) through this site.
It was all original.
Here's a pic of the day I saw it.

I would have to agree with you. The electric motor was a better overall idea. My original motor still works!
