I wouldn't want to be bouncing the engine up and down any or you might exceed the 750 pound rating.  Seems like a lot of the engine stands I see advertised are 1000#.  I am referring to the ones that allow you to rotate the engine to work on it.

On a related subject, I went out looking for a roll around engine cradle.  I have an engine stand but the new 77 440 is going on it so my old 69 440 needs a new home.  I couldn't find one at Harbor Freight but did find one at Northern Tool.  Only cost $35 and it was rated for 1000#.  I have to make some adapter brackets so the engine mounts will bolt to it but I think it is going to work real good.  The wheels are cast iron with no rubber which is good too.

At the moment my engine stand is an old tire. But hey at least I'm working on the engine (about 4 months after i pulled it)

I wouldn't take this as gospel since I've seen slightly different numbers but should be very close. Your mileage may vary.
Make sure that you use in grade 8 bolts to mount. I always see people with hardware store specials (grade 5) holding their engine up.
