OK, a friend of mine down here finally got the KB240 pistons with some other stuff ( cam and gasket kit ) from Summit. Summit sent wrong rings... 030 and he bought standart to standart pistons. Pistons were the right ones. That was solved since machine shop found standart rings. The problem is once everything got joined, pistons numberss 1-3-5-7 got right to deck level, no less, no more, just right same block height, BUT 2-4-6-8 pistons pass the block deck level, being the piston 6 the worts of all. He was to isntall metallic gaskets but wasn't imposible, piston meet with head at the edges and crank just stops there. However with regular gaskets everything is "fine" and cranks just keeps turning.

what would it be the problem ? is safe or not to keep assembling ? where to look at ?

Please your help.

I would pull the parts out and measure the compression height of each piston and the center-to-center length of each rod. If all of those dimensions are close to each other the block deck is too high/low on one side and needs to be "decked" to equalize the dimension.

This will result in the pistons sticking up above the block an equal distance and will need to be corrected with thicker gaskets or machining the tops of the pistons.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

we discovered... the block deck was milled down more on that side... that ruined the block since now he will need to install a metalick gasket on one side and the regular gasket on the other side.

DAMN MACHINE SHOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't want to ruin your day any more but your probably gonna have some trouble with the intake manifold sitting square. How much of a difference is there between the 2 sides, it may be hard to make it up with gaskets.

about one milimeter

The machine shop lost the piston installing instructions... does somebody have a scaned installing intructions to  KB240 pistons ? or does somebody know where to find ?

Pics about how looks pistons on block will be helpfull too.
Thanks.

KB piston installation isn't all that much different than others with the exception of the top ring gap.

This page has the info on that:
