hey everyone, it's been a while since I last posted (havent had anything to post about) but I'm back with news of my dad's 68 finally getting work!  For those that don't know or remember, my dad has had the car since 1972.  It was the 1st thing he got when he returned from Veitnam... as the story goes, he was hitching in Germany and got a ride in a 68 R/T and was hooked from then on... he got married in germany to my mom, they had me and my sister, moved to the US and got an apt. and the car... the car has bee sitting in my grandmother's garage for 30 years (talk about a barn find!) and is now getting the love and attention it deserves.... It was originally a 318 car but we're moving to a 440, 4 wheel discs, and a few other nicietes, so it'll be a resto-mod.  We hope to have it done by late April...

June 06 1st time outta the garage since 1976:

Thanks for the replies... here's a question... the color on the right is the Dk Bronze Metallic is a 1969 color.  How sacreligious is it to put that color on a 68?

Nice, that baby's coming right along!
I don't see any problem with painting it a non-original color, it's his car, after all. :yesnod: I suppose some purists may think so, but most wouldn't care.
Looks like it's gonna be a beauty when it's done! :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Pistolpete

I had to make some of the same decisions on mine, bottom line - once its a "resto-mod" colour really doesn't make a difference IMHO.
I have a 69 RT 440 4spd. She now has a six pack, pistol grip, front discs and the newer version (Go ManGo) of the paint colour Dk bronze that you're considering.

Unless you're sticking to the build sheet hardcore then do what makes you happy!

Good luck - looks great!
