I typed in www.carsinbarns.com and this came up. "This site has been suspended. If you manage this site and have a question about why the site is not available, please contact ReadyHosting directly."

I think carsinbarns.com is gone or temporary suspended. If they got suspended, I dont know what for. I remember as a little kid, I used to sit there for hours and look at carsinbarns.com. I certintley hope that its not gone. :'(

the site went down a few years back for some time if i remember correctly

when i see them mopars rotting  weather in a junk yard or on the various cars in barns type sites, it makes me think that once they were somebody's pride & joy -- roaming it streets  back in the day.  and now left  for dead :rotz:  if cars could talk some would have a intresting story to tell

Was this last week? ;)

There are several reasons that ReadyHosting will suspend and account:
1. Non-payment
2. Transmitting child pornography
3. Sending spam or spam email that links back to the domain
4. Exploits/hacked scripts

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I had read the same thing at their site.. Tan top..I guess the movie " Cars " comes to mind about cars being able to talk, and understanding some of the history those old rust buckets might have seen... :icon_smile_big:

Uh, if you call the help desk they won't help you - that's for their customers only. Trust me on this.

As far as merchandise, people have to buy it or you have a pile of inventory and no cash.

If you want my opinion (probably not) someone likely bounced some spam email through their server OR managed to hijack a script and they were locked down until it is resolved. I could be wrong of course - that's why I posted all of the reasons for suspension.

Don't be so quick to declare something is dead or jump to conclusions. This site (well, the old one) has been declared dead more times than I can count - and every time produced piles of ridiculous rumors by well-intentioned people with absolutely no facts.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Actually, I did some undercover work. And I finally got through to a site repesentive and heres the convo:

Dayna Brown: Thank you for holding.
Dayna Brown: I have checked the account and noticed that the account 'carsandbarns1' was suspended due to non-payment.
Cody: okay so is the account permentley cancelled?
Dayna Brown: No. We have just suspended the account as it was on PastDue on January 8, 2007.

Should of told them that if the owner doesn't pay, instead of deleting the site, to contact you and tell them you would take the site over to keep it up and running.

Kinda like a Website in barns find :D

I would of myself. :yesnod:

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!" :P

Troy

Great, you probably just got someone fired. Remind me never to buy anything from ReadyHosting.

Would you like the site owner's email address and phone number? Perhaps you could call him and tell him to pay his bill?

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

69bronzeT5

No, I emailed the owner and I clearly told the representitive that I am not the owner of the site. Im just a fan.

And Charger Guy, you can take it over, I dont have the money to.

They can't legally give you his data without his permeission. But it also appears this place is more than willing to break laws anyway, so it who knows what they would do if you asked.

They didnt give me any of his personal information such as phone number, password or anything like that. They just told me why they suspended the account.

Yes, they are held to the same laws. What I meant by they can't share his data is they can't give anyone the data that makes the cars in barns website without his permission.
