Thats what I was thinking...............

Better GM than the Germans I guess. American owned anyways.

Very interesting. Often it seems when a company buys a competitor it's done for the purpose of eliminating the competition, but I don't think that would happen here. These days I don't give a flying rat's a$$ about Chrysler Corp., but if a buyout by GM can provide us with classic reproduction parts anywhere near the level enjoyed by classic Chevy owners, I'm all for it.

jmanscharger

Thats ironic since our local Chrysler dealer just :-\ got bought by our local GM dealer.

no, that's not ironic. It's coincidental. It would be ironic if your local Chrysler dealer bought the GM dealer.

Not if they think they'll make money with it. It's all about the $$$.

If GM actually does purchase Chrysler - how will this affect you?    :shruggy:

REDNECK

i herd that a chines company was going to try to buy Chrysler to get a shot at the USA car market, but i would rather have gm buy Chrysler than any other car company.

It wont, because I don't see myself buying any new cars anyway in the forseeable future.
I don't see how it could happen anyway, GM's too broke.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Yep. K-mart sold off a bunch things dragging them down and with the cash bought Sears.

They keep the Sears Tower name though......

As far as good old American made it ain't like it used to be.  It is all about the dollars these days so however they can do it they will including buying cheap foreign parts and labor etc.  The worst thing for me will be having to listen to my Chebby friends talk about how they "bailed" out Chrysler.  ::)

How about we all go in together on a business loan and buy it ourselves. We'll make it an employee-owned business. How many billions are we going to need?

Bull, I asked my wife that very question before she went to work today, she gave this look like, ok honey and she said she'll be won of the many book keepers, since she has her own business. I was excited for about 3 seconds, then I said, you smartass, I'm serious as she walked away. Our loan would be good for about 500 grand. It'd be a good start.

Yea, but you'd still have the right one, and Lance Armstrong proved you only need one to land an attractive female singer. Besides, being part-owner in Chrysler would no doubt get you one step closer to Beyonce. We'll make you director of advertising and you can put her in all the commercials.

If 10,000 Mopar guys each got a $500,000 loan we could do it. :icon_smile_wink:

I agree Bull. Now how many of us mopar guys have good credit? I can go to the bank and get a loan, I can see the loan officers face right now as I tell him what I need the money for.  :o

My first thoughts exactly Bull. The possibility of future repop parts might make this all worthwhile. Im not real dissapointed either cause this isnt my Chrysler from the 60s/70s. That company died several years ago. On the other hand, as far as new design/follow through they might be more apt to do some cool stuff (new updated chargers, cudas, roadrunners anyone?) Just a thought....
