69 power steering gear box color?

i have seen them painted grey and black but which is correct, mine looked black before i sent it off to steer and gear. when it came back it was painted grey.

The one in my 69 is natural cast iron color.

I have also seen a lot of "original" cars painted black with a white streak of paint that started at the adjusting nut & ran down the side....thats how I did mine

well im not a big fan of leaving bare metal bare. so black it is. thanks for the help!
