Drache, your Dad must have had a 66-69 Charger, 70's where electric.

$150 on E-bay? I threw mine in the trash in 2000?

Problem with the coffee, getting the coffee out ;D Guess just poke a hole in the center. Did he use decaff?

:iagree: I think I remember you posted some old pics of his '70 so he must have had more than one back in the day.

Here is a pic of my original after a little cleanup and some Eastwood Underhood Black....turned out great even though it got covered up by the battery tray anyway.  :(

The one I have has a few small pin holes.  Has anyone here ever tried to repair them?  I was thinking a bit of solder would work.

Ultimately I would like to find an NOS one.  Does anyone know the Mopar #?

The Dayclona one looks nice but I am sure I can also manufacture that with pieces from my old one and an apple juice can.

He only had the '70 R/T and it was Vacuum not electric. Maybe it wasn't stock but that is what it was. He wasn't the original owner of the car but it had a Vacuum not electric headlight covers. Someone else could have put them in.

Interesting that this would come up....

My '70 R/T has a can like the one pictured under the battery tray...rusted all to hell.  Its actually smaller than a coffee can (maybe 3 inches in diameter and about 4 inches long) and its not connected to anything.  I've been trying to figure out what the hell it is for a year now.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

You know Geno, everytime I see you answer one of my questions you put that  icon.  Are you adding up all of the beers I owe you!

Honestly, I do have the same books as you, only problem is that they are out at the In-Laws farm where I keep my car.

Thanks for this, as well as the info last week on the "H" wheels.  I checked mine, their not "H" wheels but I will keep my eyes out when I hit the salvage yards.  Next stop, Dallas, TX in two weeks!

BTW, when we do hook up, one of these years, instead of the beers, we can sip some grappa.  :2thumbs:

Shakey,

The strange part is that I actually don't drink (alcohol)...     :o

But you can buy me a Diet Mt. Dew or something else when we do meet up.   And no, I'm not keeping track...   I've had enough people help me out on questions I've had that I'd be paying out a lot more than I'd be getting back.   One more reason this board is such a great place to go...

How's this one?

Grappa?   Same as vino?     :shruggy:

I'll try a Cudaken tag line this time

hemigeno      Just glad to be helping out!

P.S.   Good luck on the H-wheel search - '68-70 wheels are worth some serious coin if you can find them!!!

Grappa is an Italian liqueur, almost like a Brandy.  Very strong!  The basic Grappa is like pure alcohol and it is also available in different flavours such as limoncello (lemon) or recenlty in Chicago I tried Orangecello, yes you guessed it - orange flavoured.  Very tasty, very potent.  A great after dinner drink!

If you don't drink - don't try it!  :puke:

P.S. With regards to the H wheel search, I will keep my eyes open in the smaller salvage yards where you can get lucky and find something that may be of great value to you, but not the owner.  Kinda like the woodgrain wheel I scored with a hairline crack for $35.00 USD.  :boogie:

snicker

I'm in need of one of these also. Let me know if someone has some good leads that won't cost me $100+

Interesting, they would have had to change out a lot of stuff to make it work right. I wonder if it was in a wreck early in it's life.

A Donald Duck Orange Juice can has all the same ribs and is the exact match for the vacuum can.  You just need to unsolder the fitting and cut a hole in the Duck can the same size as the original one.  Take out the OJ and get some Vodka and ice.  Make a cocktail and it will make the rest of the process much more fun.  Sweat solder the fitting to the Duck can then prime it with some self-etching primer and shoot it with a semi-gloss black, attach the bracket form the old can, make another cocktail, then bolt it in.

Oh and by the way, when you are done, make another cocktail.
