Hi Guys,

finally pulled the trigger and bought a set of 15x7 and 15x8 magnum 500's for my 69 RT.

at the risk of sounding uneducated - what is the best set up for my ride?

widest tires in rear? (without any modification)
How wide should I go in front ?
Do "redline" tires come in the same widths? I was under the impression you could only get them up to 235 70 R!5 (for my application)

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Pete

The widest you can run is a 295 50 15, that is what I run. Up front I have 255 60 15's and it works great. No rubbing at all. And those tires are on 15X7 and 15X8 wheels.

I had my redlines made up in 255/60/15 on all 4 corners.

www.widewhitewalltires.com (Diamondback Classics) can make them up in any size you want

I did some tire shopping today and became very disappointed. They dont make much in the 15in wheel, the wides "street" tire I found was the 295/50. I was wanting something bigger to put on a 10.5 in wheel.

mally69

thats odd  usually there are alot for 15'' wheels

Rolling_Thunder

there should be a 305 or a 315 somewhere....

I've got the same wheels with 275/60's and 235/60's.  If you want to go bigger, check your backspacing to be sure it will work.  You can get the redlines in those sizes from Diamond Back Classics.     Bob

I found some tires that were bigger but the were generally a DOT type slick. Any Ideas? I would like to stay in the 50 or less series to reduce the height. With backspace on the Vectors I've got plenty of room in the back. Whats the most backspace you can use on the front?
