Has anyone used a super charger on their LA? I'm just looking at some on www.thesuperchargerstore.com they look like you wouldn't really need anything else. Almost like it would work really good with a stock engine. let me know what you think.

You might want to talk to the guys at the Supercharger Store to get the whole story. I talked to them at the Mopar Nats in 2005.  I asked about a setup for my big block thinking it was just a simple bolt-on too.  They said you need an Aeromotive fuel pump to handle the additional fuel requirements.  Then you need a vaccuum referencing fuel pressure regulator to up the fuel pressure under boost conditions.  They also recommended carb modifications.  Also, if you have power steering, you need a different pump with a remote resevoir. The battery has to be moved too.  That's what they told me.  The two Aeromotive parts add another $350-$400 to the total cost.
I don't think this will discourage me from buying one. I just wanted you to be aware that the  supercharger kit is only part of the big picture. I know Summit has the rest of the pieces. I think the smile on your face as the pedal is floored will make all the effort worth it.
BTW, I came across another place that does Mopar supercharger kits worth looking into. It's  http://www.sd-concepts.com/. They have been doing mopar superchargers for many years now. I think their setup is a little cleaner looking.  The supercharger mounts where the alternator is, in tighter to the block. Then you just mount the alternator lower.  I think Magnum HP has a bracket that does that.
Good luck,
Dan

That is why I asked the question. the thought of a super charger is really cool, but it sounds like it is much more complicated than a new intake, cam and head work. thanks alot dan for the info.

I am just tring to look at some differant opptions in the off season. But if I went into a supercharger, I would like it to be a simple one that made as much hp as the edlebrock preformer rpm package for around the same price.
