new ball joint or just pitman arm?

I need to order a bunch of parts but I need to clarify something:

The ball joint that joins the pitman arm to the steering system has loads of play in it and needs replacing.  Do I need to get a whole new arm, or can the joint on the end be replaced?

Thanks

maybe this thread will help.
i'm trying to understand the question and it appears you are asking about the idler arm itself.
Please clarify if i'm mistaken.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

The pitman arm joint is not replaceable.....the whole arm must be changed....be prepared to spend some $$$ though....

This is the bit that has play in it.  It's the pitman arm, right?

So I need a whole new one?

try will at usimports or usautomotive, they will probably have it in stock so there will be no need to ship it over from the states

That is the pitman arm... The one you highlighted with the 'this" & the arrow

the Moog # that Mike posted is for the idler arm.

the pitman arm is pressed onto the steering box.   The idler arm is bolted on the pass side of the k-frame....

Again, be prepared to spend well over $100 for a new/rebuilt one (if you can find one)
