68 Hemi RR---120 speedometer ---good tac--- 6000rpm with auto and 3-23 rear gear.
I did this once on a Private road. I est. to be near 150 mph.  Not recommended to try this anywhere. The RR was so light it wandered over both lanes.
Not an aero car :eek2:  And the tires--- I never thought about them at the time :slap:

BY RSCO

198 and some change - 7.09 second 1/4 mile pass on 10.5" tires also.

Don't know for sure,  driving across US 26 Idaho and pegged out my 69 RT (150+++) when passing a Cadillac.  The old speedo's where pretty bad.  Wouldn't do it now.  If I hit a gopher I'd be toast!!!

Fred

Not as fast as I would like but I can't afford to lose my licence.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

GOTWING

140 in the superbird, got out of it thought i may not want to push it anymore  :D coming back from ocean city, my passenger friend was like uh dude yeah you might want to slow down now, we are on bias ply tires.

maxwellwedge

I buried (and them some!) the 150 Speedo on a 440-6 Pack Challenger in the 70's - on bias plys as well. A long slow gradual bend on the highway was like a quick steering wheel yank...Scary when I think about it now.....fun as sh*% back then!

lol, it is funny and he's not bending the rules.  The question was simple... How fast have you gone on land, and I'd say that driving an 18 wheeler (of any type) at 200 MPH rates right up there in the category "Not everyone can say they've done this"  :2thumbs:

I only count 16 wheels, does that mean the speed is discounted by 2/18?? :poke:

Got my charger up to 150 ish one time on the 4 lane. Made a long and gradual turn into a pretty sharp curve. That was several years back, don't really push it like that anymore....

Around 180 mph in a Boeing 747...shortly before going airborne.  :yesnod:

Low miles original 1994 Mazda RX-7 twin turbo 5-speed on brand new toll road (before the tollbooths even opened). Almost no other traffic, and in perfect conditions. After driving North on the section of interest, I exited to an overpass and got back on the road heading South, shifting out of 4th into 5th at 100 at the long, downhill on-ramp. When I hit 140, I'd had enough. Only one time.
