In my old 68 Charger, 143mph. In my 73, passed a cop who was parked off the road, doing 110mph. He didnt clock me, but said he heard me coming before he saw me. He estimated I was doing 40-45 in the 30 zone when I shot past. (I thought add another 70 to that and you might be close) Told me to keep it out of the ditches on my way home, no ticket.

When I was 10 years old I sat pass and my dad drove his 93 chevy 1/2 pickup up to 100mph. As a kid I just remember alot of wind noise and I looked up and seen the side veiw mirrrow shaking bad, which didnt give added comfort. Being a passenger is quite a differant world then the drivers perspective.

I had a 1979 BMW R100S scooter I bought as a Christmas present to me and my wife for Christmas in the same year (1979). I took it to an indicated 145mph with my wife on the back in the early '80's and that is as fast as I have ever been. The front wheel sure felt "floaty" and I was glad to slow down.

My brother bought cheap my mother's old 1968 Plymouth Sport Fury that came stock with a 383 2bbl motor and 2.76 rear gears. He replaced the motor with a complete 1968 440HP motor and left the 2.76 rearend. It would bury the 150mph speedo with ease. He said the only car to ever beat him in a top-end run was a 1969 455 Pontiac Grand Prix and he never verified the Pontiac was stock or not.

The old Sport Fury would barely break the tires loose with that 2.76 rearend but .... watch out if it was a 20mph or faster roll! That old Plymouth just never seemed to quit pulling strong at any speed I was with him.

Some nice stories. I figure a stupid 160 in a copper '70 Mach 1. I also add 140 to a 90* turn to 140. Dont ever try that.

I wasn't driving, but I rode shotgun in a 2009 corvette at 165 mph.  My friend was 15 and I was bearly 16.  His dad let him drive the vet to school whenever he wanted. Looking back that was so stupid since he was 15 with no drivers license.  And this was only 2 years ago!!  We would still be in jail if we got caught!  Oh, and at 145 with the windows down, his football pads would be floating in the air behind the seats. lol

New since my last post on this thread:

155, 2004 Mercedes E55 on a desert straightaway. Car was still pulling and it was rock solid. Fantastic machine for the money (I'm talking used).
170, 2009 Ninja ZX14. Also pulling like mad. Bike is limited at 186 but from what I've heard guys who have defeated the governor have hit 230.

130 in my '94 BMW 325 'vert, with the top down.  She wanted to keep going but had to slow down to make the curve coming up.  :icon_smile_big:

You know Neil, if anyone besides you said that I say Bull Shit! So Neil, where you in second or third ;) gear!

Me driving, 142 MPH but it was done in the quarter mile. First pass I pucker my butt so hard the seat had to be recovered!

As a passenger 160 MPH give or take twice. I was only 12 the first time. My dad had a friend that raced a 427 AC Cobra. I got to ride around IRP road courses with Carl. All I remember was being Slammed back, left, right, forward and back again! The 160 on a straight was terrorizing, 120 around a turn?  :eek2: Had to change my pants.

Second time was at the Mopar Nat's at the Indy 500 Track. Fool's let the wing cars out to play and I rode in a friends 69 Daytona with a nasty 426 Hemi. We got flagged off the track along with a few other folks.

Bike? Have no idea. My 81 Honda CBX speedometer only went to 85 MPH?  I was laying down and tach was at 11,000 RPM's. Way I looked at it, if I went down over 85 MPH all I was going to leave was a greasy spot after that it was just a question how long the greasy streak was?  :scratchchin:

hmmm lets see

120mph in a 91 Nissan 240SX, the fuel shut off at about that speed, caught again at 100.

120 mph in a 79 Buick with a 3.8v6, cop said I was clocked at 88

120mph + in my 67 Plymouth Satellite, 383, 2.93 rear, I had the pedal to the floor for at least a minute or so, spun No.1 rod bearing, last time I do that to a mopar wth a stock engine

136mph at RPDE California Speedway, average of 136mph, hoping to top that at Daytona in a few weeks, my wife got three ride a longs cause the first videos didn't work since it was baking hot in the cars that day and it was 95 in Ontario that day.

They came past the pits and you could tell they were hauling butt, went around turn 1 and 2 and you could hear the car hit the rev limiter on the back stretch, 185mph

162 at Daytona RPDE in October, going back next October to max out the car at 170

6spd68

283KM or 174MPH in my T-bird screaming at the top of 5th gear on a deserted road north of the city.
