I wanted to know if you can press the pin out on a 360 piston /rod without heating it up?and also putting it back together.I remember way back when,in high school auto shop we went to an engine shop and they had a little forge they use to heat up the rods and then press out and then in the pins.
I just wondered if you can do it cold on a press at home without damage?
thanks guys ;)

I've been cold pressing pins for 40 years. You need a hydraulic press that's up to the task and a good lubricant made for pressing. As long as the piston is properly supported during the operation you'll have no problem.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
