i dont think this yellow stripe you're talking about was stock, has this car been repainted? is it a true rallye car?

There were no yellow side stripes available on a 73 RALLYE. In 74 you could have gotten a parchment vinyl side stripe that would almost look yellowish. The production number breakdown records were not recorded to that extent (black/rallye/etc.) There were 6019 hardtop rallye cars in 1973 and 985 coupes that were american ordered, and as for what they all are.....who knows.

The coupe WL21 had posts (B pillars some call it) with fixed quarter windows, the coupe was also a cheaper model, and I'd say slightly sturdier. The hardtop didn't have the pillar and the quarter windows rolled down. The vinyl top itself didn't have anything to really do with it being either a coupe or hardtop.
