Well said Shakey.

I'd love to have half that man's talent. His Superbird is awesome and I'd have no problem owning that 69 4x4. :icon_smile_big:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Well look at it this way brado, at least they aren't being as hard on you as they were on 69bronzeT5 last week when he accidently insulted a members car.

Stick around and share your thoughts, insights and experiences in this hobby with us and get to know the regular members and their personalities and their appreciation for humour and you'll have a good time.

I totally understand everything said, and I did come off rather brash in my original post.  It wasn't intended to be taken so personal.. I guess I didn't realize how big of audience I was talking to.  I'm not out to make enemies with anyone, or cause problems. As a matter of fact I hope to make more friends than not.  I'm not bent out of shape over any of it either.  Sorry if I offended anyone.

Nuff said... I think we're beating a dead horse here.

Personally I say speak your mind. It's only words. If you have an opinion state it. I'd rather hear what someone really thinks than a person who waits and watches and only comments after they feel what the common consensus is and joins in just to be one of the group. Tough skin and fortitude of your convictions go a long way with me. In here and in the world. I may not agree with someone but I applaud them for speaking their and only THEIR mind. Now pick yourself up, lick your wounds and give us what only you can. Your opinion.

Tell him how you got banned from the '70 site for following your heart instead of your head!   :D

Can do Shakey. I was banned from the 70's registry for speaking my mind. I would do it again in a heartbeat. If the shear fact of a member questioning the information gathering tactics of it's "higher ups" is grounds for being banned then I want nothing to do with them. Check with your circle of friends. Copy and post e-mails from me begging to be part of that site again. I'll give you ample time to fabricate them.

Are you serious with the following your heart instead of your head comment? Is that what your parents laid on you? If you have children, is that what you preach to them? I will stand proudly on the outside with my beliefs than cowering on the inside with the masses. I would like to think Troy can appreciate my candor and my sense of humor. If you haven't read his signature it reads:

"Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention."
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss

In part he is quoting Dr. Suess but I would imagine he wouldn't be if he didn't feel as though those words meant something.

I am by no means speaking for Troy. Only he can do that.

No you weren't. Many people speak their mind on that site.

You questioned them, and you got your answer. You basically accused me of opening people's hoods, or moving papers on someone's dash just to get a VIN. You were dead wrong as usual, but you are the type of paranoid person that will never believe that. Like I have said, Troy has a much higher tolerance for people that contribute nothing to the board.

The '70 board has been around for over 2 years. YOU are the only person who was ever asked to leave. Not because you questioned our "tactics" as you say, but for the simple fact that you had nothing positive to say EVER.

Go ahead and get your last word in, I'm done with you. If I see you in Carlisle, I'm giving you a big  :pity: . Somewhere in your life, someone did something horrible to you, and you are still hanging on to that. It's time to let go my friend.

I don't remember accusing you per se as to "opening hoods & moving papers to get a VIN" but hey, if the shoe fits so be it.

I do clearly remember a sticky post proclaiming to the members that it's show season and that they should gather as many VIN's and fender tags as they can and forward them to the registry.  How dare I question that huh?

I'm the only one EVER to have been banned from the 70 registrty? That makes me feel...well.....special.

If you do your homework and boy it looks like you do ( sort of ) you'll see that it's simply an untruth on your part to say I NEVER had a postive comment.

So you say it's not my questioning of tactics that got me banned? Well Chris. Go back and if my posts are still there. Find the last one before I was banned. It wasn't for not having anything positive to say was it?

     Carlisle? Hmmmmm.

Oh and also. To jump on my reply within 14 minutes is like.....like WOW! It's nice to know there are people like you watching out for the rest of us.

Hey you guys talking about me? Ha Ha. go ahead it don't bother me I built my 69 R/T in 81 and no it wasn't rusty it was A almost perfect body but I bought it for $25.00 and needed something to run in the woods 4wheeling. my truck body was falling apart. yes it was built to run in the woods but after about 10 years of beating on it in the woods I started taking it easier on it. I would much rather have this car than any hemi #s matching show car you cant drive or enjoy [other than the money thing I could sell it for] I have put a few 100,000 miles on this car driving it. Yes driving it. Ha Ha. and hope to put a few 100.000 more on it. You dont have to spend all day cleaning it and It still gets way more attention at car shows than the rarest of the hemi cars and then you can leave and go drive where ever you want or even go play in the mud no big deal it washes off. You can even haul your cars to shows with it or a trailer load of parts to a swap meet. anyway say what you want but I still love this car very much or would not have kept it 26 years as I have had many rare and valuable cars that have come and gone. besides all my cars are different thats why I like mopars. I have many GMs too but sorry they are different also and the GM guys really don't understand why you would hot rod your $20.000 Z28 or $35.000 70 GTO conv and drive it they say I should put them orig and trailer them. Ha Ha what fun would that be you only live once drive the wheels off these cars if you tear them up they can be fixed again No Problem! Oh Yea heres my Real 71 Challenger R/T car turned into a station wagon. Opps sorry you cant see it I am driving it like it was made to be drove.

Triple Black, c'mon now, we all know and agree that speaking ones mind can lead to somewhat difficult situations whether it be here on this site or in day-to-day dealings with others whether it be family members, friends or colleagues.

My comment about thinking before speaking (re: using your head instead of your heart) is what my Mother & Father instilled in my mind however they referred to it as common sense and tact.  There are times when we as humans must use certain amounts of discrimination when it comes to communicating with others.  They also taught me to speak my mind but reminded me to do so in an intelligent & factual manner while delivering the mesage with a certain degree of class so that people will take you seriously and actually listen to what you have to say.  I will admit there are times when I deviate from this rule whether it be here on this site, with my family, friends and my colleagues and when someone points it out, I don't really have a leg to stand on.

I will teach my children the same lessons my parents taught me and I would never discourage them from standing up for themselves and their beliefs.  At the same time I will remind them that there are times when they must do so in a cautious manner as sometimes the wise move would be to put ones beliefs temporarily aside as it's safer to cower with the masses around the warmth of the fire than to stand alone on the outside in the bitter cold.

Understood Shakey and on some level I will agree with you. Not totally, but some.

I am pleasently surprised by your response. Honestly, I expected much worse. Have you noticed though that it is you, Chris G. and select others that seem to consider me a thorn in your sides? Why is that? You guys keep bringing up the BANNING from the 70's registry. I don't bring it up and only respond when it is.  I really don't think I have done anything to warrant the treatment I get. Am I a ray of f#@*ing sunshine 24/7? God no. Who is? Do I fawn over every posting? No to that as well. I am simply not your cup of tea. I can live with that.

That's the second person who has completely misunderstood my sig line. Oh well, I guess everything is open to interpretation. A good - no, make that great - idea would be to actually read my posts on the behavior that is expected and tolerated around here before throwing out a one-liner at me. The last guy who tried that one is, sadly, no longer with us.

Any way... why can't we just all get along? ;)

TripleBlack, I don't consider you a thorn in my side, you are another member of this site that I do my best to get along with.  I can only think of one instance where you and I were posting in the same thread where we didn't see eye-to-eye and that was over on the '70 site.  There was a thread about that low budget Mopar movie made out in CA, where we all agreed to an extent that it was not the greatest movie, but still worth watching.  I didn't search out the thread prior to this response, and I am not going to but I recall you not letting up and going on about it being a shitty movie and so on and so forth, and that's OK, you have the right to speak your voice.  That was the only instance where you and I butted heads, if you would even call it that.  I am certainly not going to put you on my "people I don't like list" because of that.

Looking back, perhaps I should have not made my wise ass comment the other day, asking you to explain why you got banned from the '70 site.  I think that was the only time I brought it up, could be wrong, but it will be the last.  I guess it was my feeble attempt at humour, (that's where I use this guy  :D  ) and unfortunately it was at your expense.  I like you, spoke my mind and with it came consequences, re: the last few postings in this thread.  In the end, maybe it was to our advantage as I now know you a bit better, your thoughts and beliefs, and you now know me a bit better.

I'd put myself in the same category as you, not perfect.  I'd also agree with you that not everyone can get along with each other however I think it best that you, myself and everyone else on this site do our best to get along and use that discrimination I mentioned earlier when responding to posts.  Will it happen all the time, you can bet it won't because I can guarantee you I will see some opportunity to throw out a wise ass answer / comment and won't hold back.  As you hang around and learn more about me and the others, you'll see that 99% of the time, it is done in good fun and not meant to hurt anyones feelings or ostracize them in any way.

I'd rather try a bit harder to get along with someone, as long as they're will to try also, rather than simply write them off as someone I dislike.
