Rear cam seal installation........how is it done the right way......

Guys, got my cam bearing installed and went to install the rear plugs and seal before getting the 318 on the engine stand. I have never seen the concave cam plug like the one in my kit.  It has no lip as do GM plugs.  I used  Form A Gaskit around the back lip, put the plug in with the concave bowed out and hammered the concave flat in the center. Is this correct........as it seemed to seal.  Geezzzzz, I hate leaks.......J

That's how it's done, I always add some external RTV for good measure.

Thanks for the reply , John. I may not have my engine run stand done in time and may have to "test" the seal in the car.......J
