I am no prince fan, but I have to say that his halftime show was great.  Problem is that I only caught about 1/2 of it.  anyone have a link to a video of the whole thing?

I did see the whole thing and i have to agree, he kept the crowd pumped up. I was very surprised cause before the game i said 2 things

Why was Katie Couric on there(that's been answered in another thread already)

and

What the heck is Prince doing the halftime show for?

I'm not a big fan of his either, but, he does and always has played guitar very well.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I am not a huge fan of Prince either, but that guy is smokin on the guitar. From what I have read, he is usually considered one of the best guitar players around.

yeah, he's pretty good, but his songwriting overshadows it. I have to admit I like his music. Some of it does sound dated, especially songs from the mid 80's w/ chessy keyboards, but Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, and Darling Nikki are pretty timeless.

At the SB party I was at, all the guys slowly trickled out of the room to go for a smoke as soon as the whistle blew ending the 2nd quarter, and the girls started trickling in from their gab-fest outside to watch Prince. I, being the smart fella that I am, stayed in and had the chicks all to myself.

Maybe it looked good, but I was in the other room during that & he sounded like crap!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

You guys see in the news this morning that people are up in arms about the show saying the shadows that were cast were risque.
Can you say wardrobe malfunction.

Here's a quick blurb.

NEW YORK (AP) — In the sensitive post-wardrobe malfunction world, some are questioning whether a guitar was just a guitar during Prince's Super Bowl halftime show.

Prince's acclaimed performance included a guitar solo during the "Purple Rain" segment of his medley in which his shadow was projected onto a large, flowing beige sheet. As the 48-year-old rock star let rip, the silhouette cast by his figure and his guitar (shaped like the singer's symbol) had phallic connotations for some.

People are getting too crazy over this stuff, but one thing is for sure and it's Prince is gonna be a rich man again cause of the publicity.

This crap wouldn't happen if they had Sabbath or some huge hitting metal band.  :icon_smile_big:

I thought that guitar shadow and Prince looked like a cartoon rendering of Saaaatan's tail.

What about Jack LaLane?  He's 92 & could kick Axl's ass & make him cry like a little girl.   :D

Yeah I saw it to.
The Jimmy Hendrix stuff was cool but when he zipped his pants open and exposed himself behind that sheet I kind of lost him at that point.
