Well ladies and gentlemen, what can I say?!

First off, let me say to ReCharger, SueBear and all the rest of the Bears fans here, congratulations on a helluva good run.  Your team took the wind out of my lungs on the very first kickoff return.  :nutkick: You Bears fans have nothing to be ashamed about, as the Bears had a great season, and played one helluva great game in your kind of weather.

Now on to my beloved Colts!  :boogie:

Ya'll know I've been a true blue fan and I know I've mentioned the fact that I've been a Colts fan since 1976.  And let me be the first to say that I feel so relieved at such a wonderful season and a helluva payoff- Lord knows I, and the rest of the Colts fans in Indiana and the rest of the world, have been so very much DUE this sweeeeeeet victory!!!  Coach Dungy and Peyton Manning- WE LOVE YOU- GOD BLESS YOU!!!!  Thanks guys for giving the good Lord the thanks for such a well earned victory!!!

This feeling of finally winning a Superbowl and being a true championship team fan feels really kind of strange- almost surreal!  I guess it hasn't sunk in just yet!  :smoke:

And like Boomer Assiason said tonight- finally to all those naysayers- get off Peyton's back already- he finally did it!  The gorilla is FINALLY off his back!!!!  :moon:

I can't wait to get a copy of tomorrows Indianpolis Star!  I'm gonna frame it!

God bless my boys in blue, they finally did it!

The bears had a good first quarter and that's it.   Rex Grossman just plain .......SUCKED !! Actually I still can't figure out how they even got to the super bowl this year. They have an great defense but absolutely NO offense. Grossman is a joke and I bet he wont be back next year.

Congrats to the Colts, I was rooting for Manning to win, he deserved it.

Just watch out for the Packers next year.  #4 is back.   :yesnod:

Congrats to the Colts!  It's really great to see a team like that with a great coach win it all.

Congratulations to the Colts. . It was a great game. I am very happy for Payton.

To the Bears. . Find a new quarterback. Rex sucks. I told my wife after the game, Rex should have been the Colts MVP. Even the defense did not play well.

They are still holding the parade here for the Colts today. It is only 2 degress with a wind chill of -20 below. I was thinking about going, but it is just to damn cold to stand outside.

Next year I hope my Steelers will be back in it. . . Here we go Steelers. .Here we go.

Yeah Baby!!!!!!
My cousin is going to the dome for the party.Too cold for me to driva all the way down there

Congrats on the win, Afflyer, Indy played a hell of a game.  In spite of it all, I am glad to see Peyton finally get a ring.

But man, what a let down...especially after that opening kickoff return.  I was amazed we were still within one score going into the 4th quarter, considering how badly we were being outplayed.  Once Rex decided to sack himself twice in the third quarter, I knew it was over.   :-\

Wasn't nearly the turn out for the parade here in Indy I would have expected the streets to be overflowing with fans at the parade. I know its cold outside and all, but hey their team won the Super bowl. If my Dolphins won the Super Bowl I'd stand outside in -80 to see the players in a parade.

Afflyer

You know I'd be out there regardless of how cold it was outside.  My brother said that the real party was in the RCA Dome, where 57,000 screaming blue and white fans (max capacity) were inside and people were outside as well, refused entry by the state fire marshall.

Coach Dungy and Peyton Manning made mention of the fact that they had never experienced such a decibel level of excitement inside the Dome- so much that it was hard for them to speak as to the very concussion of the noise caused by the frenzied fans felt in their chests!  Man- if only I were there to partake in all of the festivities!

Good for you Bradley....your beloved Colts won and they deserved to win.  :yesnod:

Manning proved himself in the second half of the AFC championship game against NE. That was an incredible comeback !  :2thumbs:

I'm just happy that the critics of the Colts defense and of the supposed "gorilla" on Peyton Manning's back have totally been shut down!

Let's be fair here.

That is NOT a good defense. Stopping Rex Grossman is not really an accomplishment.

It was a great win but let's not get stupid.

Oh, and I won't even mention the pass interference call that the NFL admitted they blew in the NE game that gave them the tying TD.   ;D

69_500

I'll just say one thing on this subject.

MAN THERE IS A LOT OF FAIR WEATHER FANS HERE IN INDY. Where were these "fans" 8 years ago when they were 3-13? No where to be found.

Afflyer

I've got one better 69 500- how 'bout in 1991, when our record was 1-15!

I bet only the truest fans remember those lean years of the eighties and early nineties.

It's all cyclical.  Every franchise will see these numbers come and go throughout their history.

Not entirely true. There are many teams that sell out every year no matter what.

Try getting season tickets to the NY Giants or  Red Sox game.

or the Toronto Maple Leafs.  I've heard the waiting list is 14 years and once you do get called, you pay an initial fee of $25,000.00 CDN, plus the price of the tickets to every game.

Tickets close to the ice go for $200.00 CDN from the box office.  Every game is sold out and has been since as long as I can remember.  The worst part, the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup was 1967.

they were here, you must not of been looking. I haven't missed a game since they first got here. True, it's easier being a fan when your team is winning, but all those other teams mentioned have been in there prospective citys a lot longer than the Colts have been in Indy. Most people were fans of other teams and didn't want to switch alliances. Oh, and to my north-eastern buddy, i don't want to get in another pi$$ing match, but one call didn't decide the winner in that game.

nh_mopar_fan

I'm not going to get into a pissing match either but that was a HUGE call to blow. It put them 1st and goal at the one.

I was screaming at the TV when it happened that it was not interference.

I also think it's pretty stupid for the NFL to come out after the fact and say that. What purpose does that serve?

69_500

Well you sort of agreed with the answer of fair weather fans though in indy.

To me if a person switches aliegence to another team them it is due to one fact. Not being a true fan of the first team they were cheering for. If your a fan of say the Raiders. And they move out of LA, and say the Titans move into LA. Then you cheer for the Titans? I say NO. You stick with the Raiders. Other wise you were a fan of the city not the team. Once a fan of a team always a fan of a team. Even if that team goes 0-16 for 10 straight years.

My example is look at Cleveland. Heck they lost a team, and still have great attendance when they got a new expansion team back.

As for me I'll stick with my Dolphins. Was a fan of them long before the colts got here to indy, and will remain with the Dolphins no matter what.

Steve P.

Tony Dungy and his Colts had all of Florida screaming for them...  Yeah, there are a few Bear fans here, but after Dungy coaching here in Tampa and for all Tony Dungy does for people in the Bay area the Bears fans kept quiet for the most part.. :scratchchin:
