Hey guys,

My 440 (currently running w/4000 miles) has 452 heads w/no porting but valve job, 9.8:1 cr, dual valve springs, bronze guides, 3:55's, 727 trans, 750 Speed Demon, 2.14/1.81 valves, headers 1 3/4 tubes.  I've been digging in the archives on this site and the challenger-cuda site for cam info.  I currently have a Lunati 292*adv duration 230@.50 and .480 lift, single pattern.  I'm thinking of having Engle grind a dual pattern k56 for intake and k58 for exhaust and a 112 lsa.

Any opinions on this grind?

thx,

squeakfinder

Sorry this doesn't answer your question. But I was wondering what your experience and thoughts were about the speed demon carb your running. What type of choke? Would you recommend one?

Thanks Larry.

That will work well in your combo....much better low end grunt and throttle response. The engine will idle better, make more vacuum and be easier to tune.  ;)

Hey Larry,

I really like the Demon.  The throttle response is great and it just seems to run well overall.  Also, I'm no carb expert but I've found it pretty easy to tune, very user friendly.

Definitely would recommend one.

Hey Ron - thanks.  I was also wondering this....my current cam has a 109 lsa.  Do you think I'll drop my peak RPM if I go with a 112 lsa but at the same time getting the higher lift? (.500+ vs current .480)

I notice the Engles have 110 for the k56 & 8.

Chryco Psycho

the 112* cl will drop peak Hp but it will still pull hard up high , the 112 will lower peak power but widen the powerband range so you will have great power everwhere with slightly less peak power , generally these will run faster in the quater too unless the car is specifically geared to maintain a specific tight powerband range using higher rear gears etc

Purple440

That's exactly what I need because my 727 won't stay in 1st past 4000ish rpm so I need range rather than peak.  But that's another topic  :icon_smile_cool:

Thanks for the replies.  I'll probably go with this grind at 112 and hope I'm not over camming my 452's.
