I'm looking at a 70 500 to possably purchase and I notice no backup lights in the valance. If I recall, it was a carry over from the 69's but I'm told by the owner that its ALL orig. sheet metal on the resto and the 500's ONLY had no backup lights, which I'm pretty sure is bogus, becasue it is mandatory on all cars to have them.

Or did the 500's have them in the corners towards the trunk lock cylinder in the taillights??

I'm guessing they're just filled over or a 68 lower piece was used.

I think he's pullin' your leg.  69's & 70's are the same, reverse lights in the rear valance.

I was positive on that one too, but I thought I'd better ask, because I could be wrong!

Thanks

I own a 70 charger 500 se and it has the backup lights exactly where the 69's are.  Mine has all original sheetmetal (although it needs a body job).  Was owned by 3 people before me all from the same family
and I have talked to them about its history.  I personally have owned the car for 22 years and can say it
came from the factory that way.  Allan
