I was up in the attic today and decided to clear out some of my inventory of toy cars. I have 6 boxes full of diecast and hotwheel sized cars. All cars are Mopars. Each box represents a different car. 1 box of 70-71 Cuda's. 1 box of 70-71 Challengers. 1 box of 68-70 Roadrunners. 1 box of 68-70 Superbee's. 1 box of 2001 Nascar cars, repesenting the first year that Dodge raced again. And last but not least 1 box of Chrysler 300's. Mainly 57 300C.

That's a tough question since it seems that toys vary as much as the real cars. It probably depends on who sees it & how badly they want it. I looked at your thread because I was collecting the same stuff for years, but stopped because I just couldn't keep up with what was coming out. Now I only buy an occasional one if I like it.

Have you looked at any of them on ebay?

I don't know of any dicast forums, but I bet there are some out there. It also seems that the dicast cars are always worth at least what you paid for them, but I don't know enough about the limited production runs, or rarity. The toy vendors at swap meets usually have them priced accordingly, maybe you can check those out soon.

When Johnny Lightning came out with the 1st series of drag racers, the one I had a difficult time finding was the Mustang. I finally found one on a discount table by accident for $2 or so, but would have paid the $10 at the swap meet just to complete the 1st series. I usually wouldn't pay that much, but it was the first time I ever saw these kind of things reissued.

Here are some photo's of the different cars seperated.

some of the cars I haven't ever seen anywhere else. Like a pewter 68 Superbee.

69_500

Here is another one that I haven't seen anywhere else. a 1970 Superbee.

69_500

Haven't even got down to the 1/18th diecast cars on the bottoms of each box. All of these are still in the boxes. There is also one that is a misprint. The box is labeled as a 1969 Road Runner. And even says RoadRunner on the inside of the package as well. But is clearly a 1969 Superbee with the Superbee stripe on the rear end of the car.

I have no idea. Those diecasts are worth about 50-100 dollars each. Like I got about 1500CAD in 1/18 scale diecasts alone.

I'm debating on posting them as a collection on Ebay, or seperating them, and selling them individually on ebay. Or holding on to them and seeing what I can get out of them at the Indy Mopar Swap Meet in March.  I was hoping for around $100 a box really. Call me cheap or whatever but I need to clear out space. There is still another 15 or so boxes in the attic. Everything in these 6 boxes is a duplicate. I have more than one of these things.

Mopar swap meet would be easier to sell since you wouldn't have to worry about shipping. How many cars on average is in a box?

I am exactly were you are at, but I need the money more than the space. I started selling
mine on ebay, so far just the bigger 1/18 and some 1/24, its kind of a pain and I have two
non paying bidders right now, but it would be way to hard for me to take them to a swap
meet or diecast/toy fair type deal.

These are just a few of my 1/24 stuff, some have just sold though.

Hey 8wheeler are any of those Charger 500's?

mikepmcs

I second that Black Sabbath one. :METAL:
What year is it??
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

69_500

Oh and to answer the question above, there is about 6 1/18th cars in each box, and I'd say an average of 20 Hot wheel sized cars in each box. And on average about 4 of the other various sized cars in each box.

Hi Kyle

I am not trying to sell here.

I already sold one, and I am about to put the other one on ebay.

It is actually a Superbird not a charger, all the rest are 69 charger 500's.

I was curious as I hadn't seen the ones before. The one's in the Racing Champion boxes that is.

Maybe we could work out a trade :)

Several years ago I would have been up for trading, but not only do I have most any car
I need, I also need the money, that is why I am doing the ebay fiasco, I did have a non
paying bidder finally pay pal me today after selling him a Petty set 13 days ago.

I had other colors of this size car, but I think I have sold the other colors already, I only
had one of the colors I think.

These Racing Champions are very nice cars, and they are put together already, not that the
others are very hard to do  ;D
