John,

Just curious as to why you put a thumbs down?  Is this show not worth it?  I'd really like to go but need to see if my wife would want to stay home with the new baby or go with me.  Also, more importantly, whether or not I can get vacation time off for it.

John, from Morris County, it is about a 3 1/2 hour trip.  Might be shorter for you by a small amount.  Gettysburg is just west of Carlisle if I remember correctly.

Just booked two rooms for me and my family.  Can't wait to go!  Should be fun.

John, do you know how they will have us show off our cars or is it just something that we walk around in the parking lot?  I have an idea of a cool display but it all depends on the size of the space we will have to put our cars.

John,
Do you still need to be a member of the TDC to attend?
I definitely won't be staying over, I won't know if I can go until it gets closer to the date.
Thanks!

Bill,

I don't think that you need to be as I am not a member myself but will be certainly joining either before I get there or when I get there as I think it is certainly a worth while club.

Bill, you don't need to be a member to attend, although I hope you will consider it.  I hope you can/will attend as we (the TDC) are trying to get the east coast show attendance up.  It is a great club to belong to.  In 2004 my car was on Bristol motor speedway (on the track at considerable speed) I can't thank Wayne enough for making it possible. Sorry you can't stay over- i'ts a great bench race! John

Although I did by my car with good paint(painted 1993) I know how much goes into a good or really good paint job. I belive most enthusiasts do as well, that's only one reason to bring it in primer.  Besides, it's still a Charger!

Well, looks like my Rally will be painted in time. I am really proud of this car. It did not need very much body work at all and is very solid. I sold my 73 SE, BB survivor, to buy my 73' Rally and this is my dream Charger & it will be awesome to be part of a all Charger event. I have always wanted to check out Gettysburg as well.
I thank you guys for the invite. I really do appreciate it. :yesnod:

John,

Please be sure to thank Wayne and everyone else from the TDC club.  My family and I had a blast.  It was really good meeting new friends and even Jackie and Shelby from the board here.  For those who did not attend, there was probably 20-30 Mopars all weekend with the majority of them being first, second, and third gen chargers.

As luck would have it, my charger was picked as the peoples choice award.  I am very humbled at this and feel it is a great honor.  Unfortunatly, when I was backing the charger out of the trailer, my father was not paying attention to one area and I ended up flattening out the pass. side subtle body line about 5 inches and bent the wheel well trim up pretty good.  The body line should be able to be taken care of by a paintless dent removal person with only some scratches remaining in the paint which might be able to be buffed or wet sanded out.

There was also another casualty at the show.  Tennessee (MoparJohns car) drove the 3 hour plus trip and then went out for gas and "liquid refreshments" returned and then parked his car.  He then wanted to move it to a different spot only to find out he had absolutely no power at all.  No interior lights, no power to the starter, nothing!  We found out that his fuseable link at the firewall went so we found a near by NAPA and spliced that in only to also find out that the wiring for the alternator was fried a good 8" back from where the stud is on the rear of the alternator.  Aparently, the 8 mos old alternator fried and started back feeding through the wiring.  The fuseable link did its job and prevented any other wiring from getting damaged.  A quick trip back to NAPA for some wiring and trying to find another alternator (only to have to order it and get it in on Sat) and the wiring was repaired.  Wes, a member of The Dodge Charger registry drove his 66 Charger all the way up from Texas with his wife and lent John his alternator till John could replace it.  Working in the middle of a rain storm, John and I got his car back up and running and the weekend was not a bust.     Heres to lucky break downs with Tennessee!

Again, to everyone at the TDC, thanks for a great time and a great weekend.

just got back myself, god trip home- helped Silly Billy (if you don't know him I'll fill u in later) hauled a 69 firewall/from suspension back from a sellers house along the way-good thing I was there it took 4 to move it. We had 21 Chargers at the meet, less than I wanted to see but a good 10 more than last time on the EC.  We did have some cars come & go and a few locals from a car cruise in stopped by (one awsome Charger owned by a Neil) but we had a blast nonetheless. We had a Charger from Texas, 1 from Idiana, 1 from N Carolina, 1 from Ohio, other cars came from shorter distances. I know life is busy and it's hard to do everything but I was hopping for more cars  :-\. We will have aonther meet out here next year so I'll let you know as early as I can. We (the TDC) are an odd group-we don't just have a traditional car show we cruise around and see and do things- it's a blast if you want to try it.  On sat. we meet at the host hotel and cruised to the Gettysburg battlefield. We had 12 cars 9 Chargers in the cruise.  Then we went to the visitors center and spent about n hour there.  The rest of the afternoon we went around the battlefields in our cars - not as a group (hard to do) but a few cars grouped together.  We got back to the hotel around 5:30-6 went out to eat and spent the rest of the night in the parking lot at the motel talking and gawking.  I had a good time, nice to see others from the site, congrats Brian! Sorry Brain, and most of all thanks Brian!  MPJ

I had a awesome time meeting you guys Friday evening.  I was supposed to get back up there Sunday, but things didn't work out for that and I am truely sorry I missed the rest of the weekend.  I am already looking forward to next year and maybe getting together with you local guys at local events now.  I also talked to Wayne about helping him write up some stuff for the "new" generation charger.  I am excited to be able to help out the registry.  My pic link is below, though these are only from Friday night.   :icon_smile_big:
