Who's going to win the Superbowl and by how much?

Bears
Colts
Bears by a whisker

Bears by a mile

As always I'm hoping for a good contest, and I don't really care who wins, but I have to think the Bears might come out on top.

probably the team that scores the most points will win. :icon_smile_big:

If the Colts turn it over a couple times and the Bears can get some points from the defense the game should be interesting. If it comes down to who's offense can score the most....at least the Bears got a nice Florida vacation out of the deal.

Well lets take a look at statistics.

The BEARS had the #1 scoring OFFENSE in the NFL this year.

Only 1 team without a top 10 overall defense has won a Super Bowl. And they were 21'st overall in the league. The Colts had the 21'st rated defense this year.

I think the game comes down to special teams. Indy has the edge in the kicking department due to sheer name. Gould is good too. I think the Bears have the edge in the return game, by a large margin. With 35-40 yard kick off returns to be expected, it means short drives for field goals, or td's.

Regardless, I would still much rather have Manning over Grossman if it comes down to an offensive shootout. I hope it is a good game as most Super Bowls are well....not. I might not give the Bears as much credit as others do because I know how pathetic the rest of the division was this year. Go Packers! :P

I definately agree the special teams will play a big part one way or the other.

Grossman is terrible.

Vegas had the Colts as 7pt favorites at the beginning of the week.

Tank Johnson is a punk and more than enough reason to root against the Bears.

bull

I agree about Grossman. I don't know how he managed to get as far as he did the way he played this year. There's a real good chance he could choke big time in the SB. If he can hold it together the Bears will probably win but if he chokes the Colts will hand the Bears their a$$e$.

Izzat witha full-sized Ditka or a mini-Ditka?  Looking for Peyton to have the biggest day of his career.  Didn't get his National Championship, maybe he'll get his World Championship.

Alright, we're talking here, live from Ditka's, in the heart of Chicago, Illinois. The city of big shoulders, and home, of course, to a certain football team, which has carved out a special place in the pantheon of professional football greats. That team, which is known the world over, as.. Da Bears!

As for my prediction.. at game's end, uh.. there won't be two teams of contrasting moods heading off da field, my friends. One gloom, one gleeful. The gleeful, of which be.. Da Bears!

:icon_smile_big:  My buddy Mike Tesser out there is a huge fan of Da Bears and he's very sick so I have to root for them...  I'm a Patriots/49ers fan by the by.

Looks like the responses here match the general consensus of most of the sports reporting world... and yer wrong!  :icon_smile_big:  Bears are ready for a big time upset on Sunday.  Peyton's going to have to keep on answering all the questions about not winning the big one.  Most folks seem to be focusing too much on Grossman, forgetting that he's just one man on a 40+ man roster.  That includes 22 front line starters, some special teams guys and some second-stringers that would start on other teams.  Not to say those bench sitters are as important as the Grossman, but my point is the Bears are overall a more talented & balanced team than Indy, and will pull it out in the end.  I'm not as confident as Bill Swerski, but I'm thinking they'll take it by 10.  Peyton's always good for some late-game drives, otherwise I'd say 17 or 20.  Might still happen as far as that goes.  I'll call it at 38-28, Bearsss..

And a little worthless factoid that I just picked up in my way-too-many hours of ESPN/NFL watching this week...  The only QB number to win in all SB appearances?  #8...  5-0: Young, Dilfer, and Aikman (x3).  I know there's someone wearing that number this weekend.   :scope:  This team has a lot of similarities to Dilfer's, as far as that goes...no one gave him any credit either.

Dat's wit a mini-Ditka, but in spirit form only.  Dis is a hunnert percent Lovie's team, but dat's not to say he duddn't get some udder-worldly advice from da little coach-spirit dat sits on his shoulder.  Kinda how Luke got help from da dead Obi-Waaahn and dat little green midget wit dose pointy things on his head..what were dey?....oh yea, DA earsss....
