i have a chance at buying a Remington model 742 30-06 woodsmaster with a tasco 3x9 scope. it is in good shape. i would like to know what you guys think its value is.

Those were discontinued in 1980.  I'd go as high as $300 depending on the condition.  First thing i would do is throw that scope away though and get a good one. Leupold or Redfield makes a nice one.
