If you don't know about the sci-fi novel by Orson Scott Card called "Ender's Game" I highly recommend it. "It [Ender's Game] won Card both the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award and is widely considered to be one of the best American science fiction books . Ender's Game is also a required text in the American Naval and Air Force Academies because of the truly realistic way that Ender handles command."

For those of you who have read it and liked it there was supposed to be a movie version but it's floundering. I hope it gets made and I hope it's anywhere near as good as the book. Doesn't look too good though. :'(

I read all the ender books.  They were all quite good.  When I die, I want a speaker for the dead.

Yea, I think that would be cool too. No BS, just the way it really was.

read the entire ender's series... thought it was great, but I am biased.  OSC is my favorite author.  Have you all read the Alvin series?  Great series there.

No, and I must admit I lost interest in the Ender series during the third book. The second one with the Piggies was good but not as good as Ender's Game IMO. Card did a short story about Ender about a time when he and his sister were traveling around the galaxy and stopped at a planet where some guy tried to extort all his money, but I can't remember the name right now. I'll have to dig it up because I'm sure you'd like it.

I'll check out that Alvin series too.

Read the Hithiker trilogy...awesome books that still hold up very well.

Here's that short story I was thinking of. It's called "Investment Counselor" and it's about the time Ender first meets the computer program, Jane, a pivotal character in the book "Speaker for the Dead." It's not on his website and was "first published in the anthology Far Horizons, and was later reprinted in the book First Meetings."
