Congrats Geno.  One thing I did notice that I hope they change before actual production was the door scoops on the 68 model.  Hopefully someone will let them know before it goes into production.  Aside from that, they are VERY detailed and I can't wait to pick up one of the 69 models myself.

Thanks, everyone!

Looks like the wait is finally going to be over soon.  We hadn't heard anything for a while about the tooling, so it's good to know that things are still progressing.  Since they let the cat out of the bag, it can't be horribly far from hitting the shelves.  They told me from Day 1 back in July/August that it would take about a year to get all the preliminary work done, so that's probably going to hold true.

I will post some VERY PRELIMINARY photos that were sent to me of the 1:12 scale prototype model, similar to what has been posted on the other website that Chris linked to.  RC2 won't make the car in 1:12 diecast, but it does look pretty cool.  You can't read too much into the combinations that they have the car fitted with in these pictures.  They are making several different iterations based on the same "chassis", so they may have '70 scoops installed along with a '68 tailpanel (I agree Brian, that just won't cut it!).  Both Chris and I have had a chance to put in our $0.02 to correct the errors, but it remains to be seen if all of the changes we suggested have been implemented.

What do you guys think about having a little contest to see how many incorrect things can be pointed out from the prototype pictures?

If you read the post, they say that the models are a mixture of parts from all three years just so they know what they look like...  :icon_smile_big:

I agree! Very nice details! I see the '68 is missing the side marker lights though.

Very cool, congrats Geno!
I can't wait for these to hit the shelves! I hope the '70 looks better than the ones currently available. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I'm waiting for one of these companies to make a primered car with a white interior that can be disassembled by the owner and painted to match their own car, complete with several different color stripe decal options, and a couple of wheel and tire options.

I know they'll never build a 70 R/T in white with a bright blue interior and black stripes.
