I have to say I dont care for those much...  however I do think it is cool that some people still use hubcaps instead of rims.  Its good to see something different once in a while.      I do like the dog dish caps quite a bit.  The ones they used on Bullitt were cool too.

sorry about this, but unless you got a really good deal on those or just really like that tottally original look, i would make wall clocks out of them and put the magnum 500's on. i just think chargers deserve a cooler looking wheel.

i don't like them at all, but you don't see them much at all on chargers anymore.. i really like the bullitt hubcaps as well. only ones i have on a charger of mine. and i'm gonna leave them. the kind of magnum looking ones. but kudos for being different

I love them. The rim explosion seemd to come in in 1970 with the advent of the Rallye rim. Prior to that there were more wheel covers than road wheels or Magnum 500s. and yes to cover the 15 wheels does speak of hemi.

Not my car in the pic...But I'll post some pics of a car just like mine with the same hubcaps.
I never thought I'd see the day where I'd like a set of hubcaps, but, yeah, it does send the "Hemi on board" signal, which I think is awesome.
That, and the fact that I like 15" wheels on a B body way better than 14", which look too small, even though it's only a matter of 1" difference.

I paid $60 bucks for a full set on eBay. Cheaper than dog-dishes.

And how often do you see any Charger with these caps, vs. Magnum 500s?

When I was surveying in Cape Breton in 1994 there was a 70 plus year old granny who tooled around Sydney in a 1969 ragtop 442.
In 1969 my mother owned a 350 horse 396 Chevelle.
There was a Clara (forgot last name) who owned the mauve 1966 Hemi Charger.
Also another granny owned a 1968 Coronet R/T ragtop 440 car.

So be careful of granny comments. The little old ladies may just hand you your rear on a platter.

Although they aren't necessarily the prettiest things I've seen, I do like the fact that you're doing something different.  Seems that everyone has Magnum 500's, Rallyes, or dog dishes.  Some of these cars did come with wheelcovers like yours, and it's nice to see some examples of them.

One of my grannies regularly drove a 68 chevelle v8 (350) 4spd manual, at least until she turned 80, then she sold it to my dad, who sold it to a collector, and it got stolen from him.  But she drove it fast, i remember riding in the car with her.   

As far as wheelcovers go, mine came stock with the w15 deep dish covers and HD steel wheels (what makes a HD steel wheel different than any other steel wheel?) If I planned on taking it to car shows, i'd probably buy a set of steel wheels and get a set of the factory wheelcovers, but mines always had 15 inch aluminum slot rims since i got it. 

I do have a set of 14 inch magnum 500s (3 reg trim ring models, 1 chrome) but am leaning toward selling those off since I'll probably go for a set of 17 inch ones when the car is done enough to drive again. 

Wheelcovers look different and in some cases look nice on vintage cars, it is interesting to see how these cars came out the factory doors, but i've seen way too many wheelcovers come off during normal driving and go rolling off into the weeds.  And at the cost of these vintage show condition covers, its not worth it to me to drive the car regularly with just wheelcovers on it.

Ok, off subject a little.. I remember when i was young my grandfather took me to the store in a Coronet 440.  It was the baddest car in the world.  He passed in 1983 and my dad inherited the car.  This is a little morbid and I apologize(he was my favorite relative).  I remember going there and it turned out it was now a pontiac catalina(i was 17 then).  My Dad's sister ended up getting the car.  Ok, the moral of this story is, I can't believe he bought a pontiac and I've been Mopar since I was 7.
That's terrible , I know.  That was one bad Coronet though and I miss Archie Bunker every day.(that's who he reminded me of, looks anyway, he wasn't really like the character))

Sorry for the off rant, back to the subject at hand.

Personally If I were going for the original look I would pick those caps.They look great.If I were to go with a chrome rim it would be a period correct after market mag.Now days it Seems like every mopar has M500s.

My 68 came with doggie dishes.  I don't care for the full wheel covers, but if it had come with them, I would have a set.

If I had ordered the car new, it sure as heck would not come with those god awful wheel covers!  I would have ordered it with no wheel covers at all (if possible) and had a set of cragars or keystones waiting for it at home.

BTW: what is the broadcast sheet code for those wheel covers?  My # is 007.

I think those wheel covers look OK... could be better, but could be a lot worse!

BTW, IIRC... Those wheel covers came on C-Bodies as well, so they are not that rare.  There were two versions, one regular style with a silver center with black & red trim on the center cone, the other with a silver center with "Disc Brake" lettering on the center cone.

Also, IIRC, the wheel covers with the red centers came on Dodge trucks.

Below is a comparison of the three wheel covers... anyone know for sure?

Great looking pictures of the Hemi-cars with hubcaps! I have 3 of the original hubcaps my '69 Hemi R/T came with and they are like the ones on the left in the picture of the 3 types!  My Charger did not come with disc brakes, but I think those were "C" body only hubcaps that had that lettering on the center.  I am looking for 1 more of the ones on the left!  Hint....Hint!     Carl

Allen/XS29 is exactly right about the differences in the styles.  I didn't pay too much attention until after I had bought a set of the red-centered Dodge Truck version (yep, I picked 'em up cheap too...  ).  Then, I started noticing them in the catalogs and other brochures, and did a little more research.  That's when I thought about the clock thing too.

The centers are interchangeable in them, I think, but I doubt you can find the centers just by themselves anywhere.  If there was a set of gray-centered ones with bad curb rash, you could probably swap the centers out with the red ones from a nice set of Sportsman wheel covers.

Personally, I kinda like the looks of the red centers better than the grey, especially on a car that isn't painted red or orange.  Really sets them off, but they're technically not correct.

Normally if there is something I don't like about someone's car, I keep it to myself and just compliment the things that I do like, but since you invited us to register our disgust, I vote truly disgusting. As long as we are on the subject of wheelcovers, I have a 14" wheel cover from a 68 Charger that is the same as the W11 option in Chris' response to this thread. One of the more common wheel covers. I rescued it from a recycling bin a few years ago, it is in near mint condition and free to anyone using that type of wheel cover. I also have one of that style that isn't in very good shape, but it's double the price of the good one.
