Slant 6 dipstick issues

My buddy (without a computer) has been breaking the end off the dipsicks on his Valiant. He asked me to post here and ask if anyone else (who runs a /6??) has had this problem. Pictures of d stick tube might help. I think it may need to be turned toward the front of the engine or towards the firewall?? Also, he needs a new dipstick....where does he find one?

My sons 76 Scamp has a /6 and a previous owner broke it. But its been ground down and there is still a full mark visible. I don't know why this would have happened.

That's what I think is happening. i think if the tube is moved 180 degrees it will solve the problem, where do I find a new stick?

if you cant find a /6 in a junkyard, your junkyard needs to be out of business
