I reckon the chamber will be full of water
either that or it will look immaculate but will crumble to a heap of dust when someone touches it :icon_smile_big:

I bet they will auction it off and the high bidder will be some idiot who will just restore it to look like all the other ones out there.

From the video "gas and oil were also placed in the trunk in case it was no longer around in 2007"

I'm pretty sure gas and oil will be here for another 50 years from now even.  maybe even 100 years..   :Twocents:

That 50-year-old gas is probably of better quality than today's 5-week-old gas.

That's very cool.  I'd love to see it.  If it was properly sealed, I think it'll be in really good shape!

I wonder if 50 year old Shlitz is drinkable? Seriously they must have thought so 50 years ago

Charger_Fan

Assuming it does come out in pristine condition...any guesses on the BJ sale amount next year? :icon_smile_tongue:

I'm going with 2 Million. :image_294343:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I bet the 50 year old Shlitz tastes just as horrible as new Shlitz. It will be quite the event.

Probably since it will most likely be a museum buying the car, and it seems like they have that kind of money to spend...  :Twocents:

Depends on how well the "chamber" was built.

I'm thinking a few things though.

1.  Even if the chamber stayed fully intact, it isn't climate controlled.

2.. No matter how well this thing was constructed, if it's made of concrete, it is porous.   It will also surely have developed some stress cracks over the years due to temperature change, and the Earth's natural tendency to shift and move.

3.  Due to any combination of the above, the chamber is probably compromised to some degree.   If so, a significant amount of ground water has probably accumulated inside.  We all know what condiition cars of this vintage which have sat for years in marshy areas are in.  We'll be lucky if the chamber isn't filled with rusty water, a few tires, some assorted rubber and vinyl parts, and the window glass.

I would hope that it comes out the day it went in, but most know there is going to be some sort of rust on that thing, if it hasnt been returned to the elements. :shruggy:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris
