if i have posted this in the wrong bit  i apologise .
been studying the feature on the mostly un restored 68 charger R/T on page 52 to 55 , in the under hood picture there is a lamp fixed to the under side of the hood , they make references to it being factory  , i never knew any thing about that option on a charger . if so i wonder why  the 69   A01  ( light group package )  never had this included :-\

Beats me...       but check out the fantabulous job that set of hands does holding the pieces of the Keisler automatic on pages 72 and 73...   :yesnod:   I haven't seen work like that since the Adams Family wasn't on reruns    :icon_smile_cool:

Is this the maroon car your speaking of? If so, I like how the paint doesn't match either, drivers side. The door an quarter panel are different. Notice also the underside of the hood is all trashed vs. the shinny body. I wish the photographer's took better photos duringthey're shoots. It would make the cars look much more presentable.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

( Brian)  that 4 speed auto with lock up converter looks quite a good conversion ,at a quick read . :yesnod:

yep (Mark) door is darker  in the picture from that angle ,  the doors were painted on the car at the factory . looks like  that door was painted off the car  or  repaired and painted edge to edge early in its life :-\  engine should be turquoise also ,  :yesnod: the under hood shot could of been better . i don't think i would of painted the engine bay & engine as its originality has been lost on an other wise  surviver

Holy cow, I just bought that mag last night.  :icon_smile_big:
Very hard to find a Mopar mag around here but i got the only one. On a different subject, what's the best mag to buy out there for mopars... and i'm looking for more performance related articles and the like.
I want to subscribe to one and don't know which one is better.  I want technical info more than pictures although pics are good as well.

As far as the lamp goes, that is a mercury switch fed lamp(exact same one) that i recently installed on my charger and don't think it is factory for a charger. I put mine right in the middle of the hood.  It works nicely though.  open the hood 2 feet it's on, close the hood below that it's off.  Not in the light package description as far as i know.  my.02

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

i did  subscribe to them both , but i did not like the way mopar muscle was going with there stuff , so i quit subscribing . so i am only getting  mopar action now .   but i have recently heard they have given their mag a face lift  :-\.   might start getting that again also ,as  1 mopar mag every two months is not enough , i'm getting withdrawal symtims  ;D

Ghoste

Let me say up front that I don't know for sure if it's factory or not.  I don't think it is but I don't know for sure.
And now I will add, that magazines have to be responsible for more bad information being accepted as fact than anything else.  Some of those guys are hardcore car freaks and know everything there is to know but there are a whole bunch of them that are freelancers and know more about Wordperfect than they do WordoImountacarb.  Mopar Action is usually spot on but some of the mistakes they print in Hemmings Muscle Machines make me want to scream.
At least the pictures are nice and I certainly remember the time when a Mopar, any Mopar, being spotted in Camaro Craft or Popular Chevy Rodding was a huge bonus.

tan top

:iagree: yeah i know what saying ( Ghoste)  hardly ever saw  mopar stuff in camaro  :-\ i mean car craft ,  hot rod  muscle car classics :yesnod:
before that article i had     never seen or heard about under hood lamps on a charger   :shruggy:   ....  may be factory / owner /  dealer installed  who knows whats going on there  :shruggy:

thinking  about that ..      didn't the article say it had factory undercoating on it .  hmmm..   would not of thought the factory undercoating guy would of managed to hit that up there  :icon_smile_question:  :-\

Ghoste

Yeah, who knows?  The owner could have put it on and told the writer that it was a factory lamp meaning that it was a Chrysler factory available lamp.  Never intending it to be taken as a chrysler installed lamp.  That happens too.
