i need to stiffen my rear suspension in my charger so that i will get almost no bounce, no swaying, no boat like handling. the main reason is so i can put bigger tires under my car ;D. they barelly fit. if i bounce the car a little they hit the outer wheelwell. will leafspring helpers solve my problem, i know ss springs would be the best but i wanna spend under 50 bucks. how do they work, and would it take a rocket scientist to install them. check out this link and tell me if this is what i need

terrible one

They just strap on to your leaf springs and they give them some extra support and stiffness. If your springs are worn out it would probably help you out some.

there is a new set of leaf spring helpers on ebay. they ajust up to 1000pounds to reduce swaying and bottoming. These helpers fit most cars, vans, and pick-ups with under the axle 1-3/4", 2", or 2-1/2" wide leaf springs. does my 72 charger se with all stock suspension parts fall under one of those sizes?

thanks,

1) your wheels are too wide or you have the wrong backspacing.

2) The helpers are great as long as your tires are set inside the wheel wells, don't care about a good ride, don't mind 2 chunks of crap hanging under your car.

3) Helpers are a good way for someone to make money from someone that doesn't want to do an hours worth of work.  Although it will take you about as much time to put helpers on.  Then you will double your time taking it all of after you hit a good bump and take a chunk out of a tire and your quarter panel..

Put your old tires and wheels back on till you can afford the real deal springs..

:iagree:   Take the time and spend the dough to get the real deal and do it right or you just look for more headaches and wasted money in the long run. Cheap fixes only help for a while, always have a downside to being cheap and look really cheezy to me.
My 2 cents.
