I wonder if any of you caught Peyton during the last drive of the Pats, as he sat on the sidelines...he had his head down and was praying to God.

I'm happy to say that the good Lord delivered hansomly to this team who never gave up and came from eighteen points down to find themselves with not only the biggest comeback in NFL history in a championship game- but first class tickets to Miami to meet 'da Bears!!!!

My hats off to all you Patriots fans out there- you owned the first half hands down.

If I could have been a fly on the wall in the Colts locker room at halftime, and to listen to what coach Dungy had to say.  ;)

It's been 36 years since the Colts went to the big game and they won it against the Cowboys when they were in Baltimore.
That was when they had a zip code in Baltimore...

But this is INDIANAPOLIS!!!!

Peyton finally got that 800 pound gorilla off of his back tonight with this win.  He was destined for the Superbowl- I feel lucky to be alive to see my team to the big game and the chance to win, unlike my father, a lifelong Browns fan when they were under Art Modell.

I love my team and always have through thick and thin- a true "blue" fan who has never waivered and never will.  We are owed this moment in time so very much!  Reeeeeeeeeeedemption!!!!!

God bless Peyton Manning, Coach Tony Dungy and the Indianapolis Colts!!!!!

We're going to the SUPERBOWL!!!!!   :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:

Indy is actually my favorite AFC team, I was pulling for them all the way.  But, I'm sure you can understand my allegiance has to be put on hold for the next 2 weeks.   :icon_smile_wink:

The odds makers have the Bears as seven point underdogs.    :yesnod:

Go Colts !!!!

After seeing that second half performance from Peyton I'm picking the Colts also.

nh_mopar_fan

Manning had to have a lot of pressure on him coming into this game. At home, favored etc. Coming out at the half, it had to be even worse.

That was a clutch performance.

Are you sure he wasn't praying to Satan, or trying to figure out how to transfer the funds into the ref's checking account before midnight? Sorry, I'm no fan of Manning. He likes seeing himself on TV and hearing himself talk more than anyone else.

Afflyer

Bull, we all know how you feel about Peyton.  What was the term you used?  "Top Shelf Ass Clown?" or something of the sort?!

On a lighter note Bull- you'll be happy to know that in the Master Card commercial where the neighborhood paperboy throws the Sunday paper right through Peyton's window...that house is really Peyton's Indianapolis residence and the busted window was an honest mistake made by the kid- they decided to use the scene anyway.

If you've never seen that commercial, perhaps you've seen him advertising for Sprint/Nextel, or Sony HDTV, VISA, the list keeps growing!

:icon_smile_big:

Yes! 'Top Shelf Ass Clown' was my exact quote. I stand by that comment too. :icon_smile_big:

I've seen that commercial, and actually enjoyed it -- more now that I know the broken window really happened. :yesnod: Of course he probably had the $200 cash to fix it that day in the right pocket of his jammie bottoms. The rest of us would have to duct tape it over for three weeks until we had the money. He probably used the opportunity to put new windows throughout the house and add another bedroom with the money in the left pocket of his jammie bottoms. The sad thing about Peyton Manning enjoying the sight and sound of Peyton Manning so much is that he's not just going to go away when he retires. He's going to wind up with a job yapping it up as an announcer somewhere. How's that saying go? "It's better to remain quiet and be assumed an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

I honestly wish no ill against the Colts, or any NFL team for that matter. I just don't like pro athletes who talk too much or feel the need to plaster their faces all over TV. From that you can probably tell how I fealt about the Chicago Bears during their last Superbowl stint or the #1 assclown on the planet, Dennis Rodman.

nh_mopar_fan

Brady doesn't do a lot of commercials. He's too busy banging models. :2thumbs:

Peyton happens to be a very remarkable marketable respectable sportsman, who is an extremely positive roll model.  If you have your doubts, don't believe me- just read his stats for his foundation called "PeyBack Foundation".

Here's the link: http://mirror.colts.com/sub.cfm?page=bio&player_id=8

It's quite a lengthy read, but worth reading the details.  Scroll all the way down to "personal" if you're afraid of the eye strain.  I don't expect your opion of Peyton to change Bull, but give me a break- he does a helluva lot of good off the field other than doing commercial endorsements for major credit card and cellular telephone companies to name a few.

Could someone please add "remarkable marketable respectable sportsman" to the "$10 Phrase" list? We have one of those here don't we?  :D

Not that Peyton isn't a nice guy but I bet 90% of the guys in the NFL have some sort of foundation. Sometimes I think it's something for their PR guy to mention if/when they do something stupid. Sort of a tax-shelter/public image insurance plan.

smasherofall

yeah, you really have to hold it against him that EVERYBODY wants him to endorse their products. Brady had his credit card commercial, how did that work out? he didn't even talk, his linemen did all the talking and stole the show. and have you ever seen a pic of Peytons wife?   :yesnod: what would you do if everbody was throwing money at you to endorse their stuff?

Um, huh? WTF does Manning's wife have to do with anything?

Here's a bit of advice you may find helpful.

If you're going to post, it's always nice to have a point.

I really don't like either the Colts or the Bears, but I would rather see the Colts win the SB.  Coach Dungy is an excellent coach and for his sake, I hope they win.  Mannings struggle to get to and win the big one somewhat reminds me of Elway.  Regardless of anything else, he is a great quarterback and it would kind of be a shame if he didn't win at least one SB.

Congrats to the Colts, good luck to both teams.
That hurt to say.

Psst, hey genius, did you see who posted that comment on the models? That was me.

It was an effing joke. Sorry you didn't get it. I'll have to be even more obvious next time.

I could go on about how truly effing stupid it is that someone would argue who is the better QB by talking about their commercials.

But, feel free.

I'll go with my method. MVPs.

SUPER BOWL MVPS.

you said I didn't have a point and obviously I did,oh, but I'm the genius. Ok I'll admit it, I'm a pretty smart guy. Sorry don't need to get in an argument over what quarterback is better, superbowl mvps, mvp of one game, or league mvps, mvp of 16 games. what ever you say dude, he blew it last sunday and thats all that counts right now. Peyton may or may not win the superbowl this year, but no need to trash the guy because he don't play for YOUR team, damn, get over it.   :yesnod: :blahblah: :blahblah:

Jeff and Nate Hobgood-Chittick (who played for the ravens during the titans/ravens superbowl) were roomates in college at Carolina.  Their room shared a suite with my younger brother and they were very good friends.  They both kinda looked up to my brother and they were pretty nice guys.  They used to come home with my bro every once in a while and one weekend, we all went to the roadhouse which was close to my parents house.  There were a couple of guys in there wearing klan teeshirts and Nate (the very liberal son of a couple of college professors) decided he was gonna start some crap with them.  Next thing I know, jeff's got his teammate's back and there are half full Budweiser bottles flying past my head.  My brother and I and another friend of jumped in to save them as they were getting readdy to get a good ol' redneck asswhuppin.  We managed to get the situation under control and get them out of there.

After that, we went somewhere else and got hammered.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Whoa. Scary. Every time I hear about those fools getting into fights I think of that scene in American History X where Edward Norton stomps that black guy's head on the curb.

I don't know about "easy", but it should be a good game, nevertheless- as good as the last two that the Colts have played.
