GREAT CARB but needs care with overheating engines able to crack the plastic body that's the only REAL and MAIN problem. I won't change it never. Save gas with smaller front bowls on normal operation and big power ( noticeable booster ) on full gas pedal. About surface opening throtles there is no comparision with another carb on similars 4 bowls carbs. Plastic body saves gas on venturies with smoother surface. Keeps gas cooler saving from excesive evaporation and low performance because the plastic bowl.

Is not easy get it pefectly tuned but even in that way gets great performance.

I drove once a Charger like mine ( 74 ) with AVS or AFB carb, don't rmember really which one, and there is really a difference. Never tried with Holley or another one to be honor to the truth, but ppl who has used them on Mopars too, say only reason to change to Holley or another brand or carb model is the care needed with the plastic body and hard to get replacements ( Carter is not on market anymore ).

Demmonsizzler is a GREAT guy, I have got really great help from him even the distance to try to save my carb.

Nacho, thats why i'm going with DemonSizzler if i get one, hopefully it'll be very close for my app., he will be supplying the core, i'm still undecided because i have 3 carbs two play with, a 750 eddy, 750dp & 650dp, but the 850 TQ is tempting for sure.

Man, how many boards do you have this on?

LOL ;D

I really like the TQ's, always had great success with them, but mostly I used them for street performance stuff.

Never dyno'd them, or checked EGT's & A/F ratios.

I do know, that once I started using an engine dyno, I bailed on BG products, PERIOD !
I just didn't have the patience required to make them work.
I could take a "box-stock" 4150 downleg booster Holey "HP series", and "shitcan" 5 hrs dyno time working on any 4150 type BG.
After eating a lot of time on numerous occasions, I just gave up.

Haven't tried again in a year or so, my bum's still sore.

To whoever can get a correct A/F curve, and consistent EGT's from a BG, my "hats off to you" !

Probably too many  ;D, just 3, but i'm getting some Killer responces & good ones Too  :icon_smile_approve:, even inhearited a TQ off a 440 from a VERY nice board member, just have to pay shipping  :icon_smile_big:, I normally don't do this, but its paying off  ;)

TQ's are the best carb ever built IMHO. The flow enough on the top end for excellent performance, but the small primaries give great throttle response and gas millage due to maintaining high flow velocities. If you are talking about a race only car, a Holly double pumper is the way to go, but if you drive your car around, a TQ will give you as much as 5 miles per gallon more fuel mileage on the highway, and crisper throttle response at lower RPM's/part throttle operation. The only drawback to the TQ is that it is taller than other carbs, so if you're running a high rise manifold with limited hood clearance, then the TQ might be a problem.

I agree that Demonsizzler is the best if you are going to go with a TQ, plus he's quite inexpensive.
