Slapstick owners, is there a way to secure the gear indicator plate? Mine seems to slide around too much and gets stuck between the letters.

???

Do you mean the chromed bezel ?. There are 3 7/16" bolts ( or  it is 3/8" don't remember), that keep the bezel in place. Remove the woodgrain insert and shift to Parking and 1st gear to be able to get acces to them  on both sides.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

I'm talking about the sliding plastic piece with the indicator line on it. Not the chrome part or the piece with the letters.

maybe T handle is broken on botton and stucks with plastic slider marker. Anyway is not an exact marker, it does have a normal "play". Some T handles, mostly factory ones, are thin and straight up to botton for a while newer replacement parts ( Mopar NOS included ) are little bit fat and curved on bottom section to keep more filled the slider hole and get a more exactly gear reading.
