wondering what a proper break in would be for my 440 rebuilt.im trying to start it but need to know how long and what rpm to run it and when to change out the oil.

Cam wear at start-up appears to be the problem with the modern engine oils.   Comp Cams has an additive which helps.  I believe that many people suggest using Rotella T diesel oil to break in the engine.   It still has the zinc that's been removed from the car engine oil.   The other thing that many people suggest, and I do myself, is do not let the engine idle for the first 20 minutes.   Instead run it at 2000 rpm.   After that the cam should not have a problem with worn lobes.   Hope this helps.

20 minutes at 2000-2500rpm...    thats what I do to engines at the shop and they never have problems...

no dash or engine wiring how do i keep an eye of the vitals without gauges?
