I have a chance to buy a 68 charger that is complete for $3500. The car needs a bunch of work but at least its all there.

So the question is .... is it worth it.  I have two 69 chargers already. And if this car was a 69 I woulld own it already.

Whats the going price of a 68?
The car needs paint, interior and engine redone.  Its solid and has all the parts.

What should I do... add it to the collection?  Or pass.

$3500 sounds like a good price unless it is just a parts car.  68s are priced close to the other 2nd gen Chargers.  If you can afford it and have the room, I say buy :yesnod:

2 Gun's, is both the 69's done? Don't bite off more than you can chew. Pic would be nieces. $3500.00 sound's like a fair prices and resale for the 68 is pretty much the same as the 69 and a 70.

Deal is good, is it in your budget is the real question.

$3500 is a pretty good deal if you are getting something to work with.

I had a local guy wanting to get $4500 for this because he sad other than being chared it was a solid car. Underside of the car did look pretty good but everthing from the rear window forward was either burnt, warped, or just plain gone. The roof was warpped so bad it would definately need to be reploaced. I called a week after looking at the car and the guy sold it for $4200. So If your getting something for $3500 that seemd like a bargin.

My cars....

One of the 69's is getting closer to being done. Its originally a 318 nothing car with air.

The second 69 I picked up 6 or seven years ago for its engine and tranny to go into the first car.
At one point I was going to scrap the car, but just didnt have the heart to.  At the time I thought it
was a mess and needed to much work.  I bought that car for $800.  THANKFULLY I couldnt junk it and
I kept it.  Later on I discovered that its a real 440 car and Im the second owner of the car. And after looking
at these other wreaks people are restoring its really a pretty damn nice car.  And Complete at that  :)

Some year It will get restored and the orginal engine and tranny returned to it.

The 68......  Its an orginal 383 car that was  Light Green Poly color.  Nothing special about the car that I know off.
The orginal engine for the car is not with it. And some sort of engine is with the car but not in it.  The Tranny is in the car
not sure what thou.

The green one is my current project just out of the paint shop.

The brown is the 68, which after seeing the pictures if the $4200 piece of toast I think Im going to buy.

You'd be hard pressed to find any 2nd gen Charger for less. If nothing else you could probably flip it for a $2k profit, but pictures would help a lot.

I say get it, youll sell it for much more after year if you wanted to make profit

Judging from that pic of the 68, it looks worth it to me too. And like some said, if you don't want another project car, flip it on eGouge!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
