1969 Daytona SE

Well I dont know because I havent seen any proof that ur old Bee is real

Shortly after this pic was taken, the suspension was stripped off and then it was picked up with the forklift and dumped in an irrigation pond.  That isn't the original color (it was a dark green).  It was a 383, automatic, console shift with Ramcharger hood.  I still have the fender tag.  That's the pic you wanted isn't it?  The pond has been filled in but as I said, if you want a pic of the pond as it exists today, I'll drive out there one day and take a picture of the spot.

It was but that's about 1979 or 1980 and it was rusted out in the trunk floor.  Today, you would easily restore but back then I had just bought a 68 Road Runner for $75 so I stripped the Dodge.  I had all of 200 or 250 dollars into it.  Those were the days, huh?  Back when it was cheaper to get another one than it was to fix the one you had.
In hindsight, not my best automotive decision but from an investment standpoint, I should have hung on to the 71 340 Challenger convertible or the AAR. 
Imagine how much money an F8 1969 Daytona SE with a Mod Top would be worth though.

Hey bronze, you oughta do a search on this subject before assuming that this thread is the only reason we're a little jaded when it comes to taking ChargerPunk's word for the existence of this mythical unicorn... ummm, I mean, Mod Top Daytona.

Just a few excerpts from past threads where Matt has been talking about this car but has yet to produce pictures:

at a mopar show earlier this summer there was a beat-up 69 all original f8 green daytona SE with black interior and stripe,earlier on in life it had its nose and wing stolen  so now it wears a cheesy primered gray nose cone w/ out headlights and a black wing. neway the car has all that gluey shit all over the roof and has parts of the trim on it which indicates it wore a vinyl top at one time my buddy tells me it was amod top vinyl roof car-MATT

well i will get pics of the 69 se F8 daytona i took pics but cannot find them-MATT

actually i belive there were more like 5 daytona se's built i have persoanlly seen 1 and it was an unrestored f8 green model with a/c,2nd one i saw on the net was again f8 green and was for sale and i think still is on some site(ill look 4 it),and the last one was i think f3 or f5 green and is featured on the net somewhere 2, a guy i know whos buddy owns a restored r4 daytona se that originally came with a factory mod-top and i have no info on #5-MATT

NOTE:  In the above thread, the mythical Mod Top car is now a restored R4 RED Daytona SE   

i do but ill have to find em and upload em,btw car is very rough and is missing its nose cone as it was stolen in the 70's it now wears a fiberglass primer shell repro nose, also this car was had a dealer installed mod top and wears some of the trim still-MATT

NOTE:  At least in the reply above, Matt does call it a "dealer installed mod top"

film is still in camera and will get developed very soon, mod top is gone but traces of it are still there and parts of the rare vinyl top xx29 trim is still and yes it is an se as there was the big SE decal on the roof and i looked at the dash to see the infamous xx29-MATT p.s. gimme a week tops and the pic of that car will be here.

since sumhow i have 1000 posts  now ,guess i had a bit 2 much fun last night and posted somthing, so i can post now, but i have pics of a mod top daytona f8 green se that need 2 be developed, will get em as quick as i can-MATT

i just dont have money 2 get those pics developed,and my dad dont wann spend cash to get em developed either, but when i do get em done im gonan scan and get um up here for the whole charger world 2 see that the punk without a charger was RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -MATT

Add in all the continued insistence in this thread, and I think even the most lenient observer would have to conclude that we've been more than patient under the circumstances.  Honestly, we should have told Matt a long time back to put up or shut up.  We're trying to say that in a nice way in this thread, but it's hard to say diplomatically.

Like I said Bronze, do some homework before making the assumption that we're all just dogpiling on Matt for the fun of it... well, it might be a little fun...

                yeah (Ghoste) to think of all them mopars that went to the crusher in the late 70's .    i'm guessing some rare color combinations  & optioned mopars went to the great junk yard in the sky.

               yep i was thinking the same  the R code  E-body  rag top  owners / collectors are going to have their mind blown  when they get a load of this , the   none of zero  440 hemi powered  mod top  69 daytona ScE .  and once it is known sachquatch  aka (BIG FOOT) is the original owner ,  imagine how much old   BF   is going to be Worth doing chat shows , writing his life story about  how he avoid the worlds media spot light  by ordering  a F8  mod top daytona ScE  ( special  camo edition) .

Not to mention that the Punk has been here long enough and proven his mettle that now there's just no way we're gonna turn down an opportunity to bust his balls.  It's a lot like never letting your buddy forget about that time he got caught with that unusually heavy girl.

I had forgotten about the first few times he mentioned the car. One time its a unrestored car, the next time its not. Once it was even Red, or wait was that a second Daytona SE with a mod top? They are growing on tree's aren't they.

I can't believe Geno actually spent the amount of time he did to make that post for a kid (Bronze), who can't focus on one thing for more than 10 seconds. 

Anyone who knows anything, knows you can go to your local photo place and get a picture scanned and put on CD. Matt knows this, but won't do it for whatever reason.
