That car used to drive around Dayton, Ohio.  Very nice car considering the 70's updates.  It was in the local auto trader a couple years ago for 14,999.  Last I saw it was somewhere in Texas and the owner had a price tag of 75,000. on it.  Sure this auction is a scam.

venom04

I think that is the most horrable car ive ever seen.  Why o why did they have to do that to a mopar.
:drive:

It was done many years ago.  That's the only defense I could possibly give for the guy.  Believe it or not, the car is pretty awesome in person, considering certain aspects of it.  The paint is beautiful, but could lose the merial. (SP)?

mikepmcs

that car is getting more attention on this site than any other.  it's on 3 different threads in 2 days.

I'm guessing it's a scam on the sale, cause i've emailed the seller twice to ask to be added to the bid list, i've asked what the first 2 letters of the vin are, it's got 2 days to go and only 1 bid of $200 and no reserve :o :o.      if they contact me and i figure out that it's legit and i win it for chump change, i got no problem spending my life savings repainting that thing.

it's gotta be a scam

I think so too but can you tell me what you think they would be scamming you out of.  they don't ask for a deposit is what's baffling me.  i'm with you though, i believe it's a scam.
they haven't replied to my emails, i've sent 2.

somehow they use your email address when you email them and your ebay name and hijack your account. Then they lock you out of your ebay account and start selling bogus items on ebay.
It happened to me and before I knew it people were calling me wanting the items I supposedly sold them.
About a year later I was suppeonad (spell check) to New York by the FBI to testify against the crook that they caught. Man did he get burned, the feds seized everything he owned and he was facing many years in prison.

mikepmcs

ok so what do i do now, cause they probably have my email address.

how do i fix it, or am i doomed.

just access your account once in awhile and if one day it says login password does not match user name, then they got it. Ebay wont do much of anything about it when you email them, it took the FBI before they would terminate my old account.

oh, and chances are that this will not happen to you, I think its a bunch of hackers collecting ebay names and emails and selling them to scammers, kind of like selling mailing lists. There are probably thousands of accounts for them to choose from.

Steve P.

If nothing else, get in touch with ebay and tell them what is going on and that you answered to the auction. They will probably have you change your password and tell you to keep an eye on your account.

Any time I see an auction with that crap about registering I just pass it up. Also, MOST people don't start selling on ebay with a car. They normally test the waters with something small and cheap.  This guy has "0" feedback..

My guess is that this car is a leftover from the mid 80's when these cars weren't worth a king's ransom and the custom car shows were very popular.  The World of Wheels shows at the time were simply full of cars just like that.  It's the same as crying foul over the original Hemi cars that have the radiator frames hole sawed out and worse in the early 70's for drag racing.
